< About me > Hello! My name's Cameron and just so there's no accidents, I go by they/them pronouns exclusively. I like gaming and roleplaying and chatting a lot and I do a lot of those things since I like them so much. I'm not always the most formal or anything, but I try to be as decent a person as I can. < How active are you? > I'm not gonna lie, I've been a 4/10 or 5/10 recently. I'm busy sometimes with friends and school and stuff, but I still try to roleplay at least once a day/two days. I like my roleplay characters and their whimsy. < Roleplay experience/history > Specifically to Gens, I've been roleplaying for 2 and a half-ish years I think? I've had 12 characters in total in Gens and I've been among some of the crazy grinders before so I'm well versed in this rp. I'm also part of the Gens staff team and I run L/Kp apt/exp and UC storage (very fun, can confirm)! I've been roleplaying the entire time I've been on scratch pretty much so I think I have at least some experience. I've definitely seen my writing develop over the years. < What kit are you applying for? > I'm applying for Baykit. < Why this kit? > Well I donno. I like them. Appealing colors I suppose. I've been without a character for like 2-3 weeks and I'm bored so I'm in the market for a new kit already. I also wanna be in UC so that's convenient. < Longevity > Well in Gens the oldest character I've had got to 60 moons and I average 20-40 moons with most of my characters so yea. In other rps I've had characters for years though, so I guess it really just depends how good my luck is with one specific character. I've never intentionally killed off a character before 36 though. < Sexuality > I think I might want them to be skoliosexual or something of the sort. I haven't seen many skoliosexual cats in Gens. < Gender + pronouns > I feel this a good place to self-insert so I'ma say probably pronoungender using they/them. I think I'll have them start out using she/her but then go 'huh, that's not right' and then change. < Personality > (+): Practical, Agreeable, Generally polite (=): Simplistic, Simple, Quiet (-): Blunt, Flat-toned, Bitter - Baykit is generally soft around the edges and very sensible in her actions and thoughts. She doesn't like adding any fluff, though she has respect towards other cats and treats them as she'd like to be treated herself. She doesn't see sense in arguing or dishonesty or anything too extra. She doesn't need anything extra in her life unless it's absolutely necessary to be acknowledged. She avoids problems and keeps to herself when it comes to her opinions. She's very mellow normally. (As a kit, she'll be more into testing the waters of things and seeing how far she can go with something, so a lot of her calmness and quietness will be much greater later in life.) < Research > Partial deafness (applying to both ears) - Deafness in cats with white fur and blue eyes, whether partial or more extreme, is quite common as the genes for them are linked. These cats can have sensorineural (dealing with more nerve and organ kinds of things and not just malformation of the ear or such) hearing loss that's usually permanent and can appear at birth or soon after. Baykit has a moderate form of hearing loss where she'll deal with being unable to/finding it difficult to detect very quiet or soft noises (examples being pawsteps, voices, maybe even the ocean from afar, etc.). She may miss being alerted to some noises like being called or hearing prey or being able to detect atmospheric sounds. She also might find it difficult to talk to someone unless she can see them so she can have more context clues to what's being said if she misses some words or sounds. Hunting may be more difficult, and she'll need to rely much more on her other senses light sight and smell to hunt or track. She'll rely more on seeable cues or touches. She also might speak a bit louder so she can hear herself as she does so. https://www.verywellhealth.com/congential-hearing-loss-5210221 https://biologyinsights.com/congenital-deafness-causes-impact-and-interventions/ https://www.furrycritter.com/pages/health/cats/deafness_congenital_and_acquired.htm < Codeword > Ocean be the blue I see right at my door that beautiful shore
