There was a soft breeze, and it ruffled her fur. She was walking somewhere...bloom didn't know exactly, but she had ended up at the border. She had been thinking about her father more and more recently, trying to make him proud. There was a forest bordering Mossclan, but it was still on the Urchinclan side. Ty heard a faint birdcall and looked up. She spotted a flash of blue in her vision, and it disappeared. With some unknown urge, Tea ran after it, her paws thudding on the forest floor. She spotted the flash of blue again and heard the call. Bloom watched as the flash of blue, which turned out to be a bird, landed on a skinny branch. With a small snap, the branch broke, and the bird fell to the ground. All she heard was a rush of the wind passing through feathers. Her eyes widened, and in a split-second decision, she rushed to the bird, cradling it in her paws. The bird was a blue jay, with alert, dark eyes. The feathers were a mix of light and dark blue, with a strip of black around the neck and eyes. Craftypaw cradled the bird in her paws. "It's ok...I got you." Tee mewed, gently laying the bird on the ground. It was going to be okay. Bloom could help the bird. Her sapphire eyes scanned the ground. She grabbed a leaf and made it into a makeshift pouch, putting the injured bird inside. Gently, bloom draped the leaf over her back and brought it back to camp, trying to be inconspicuous. When she reached the medic den, Ty found a spare nest and put the bird in, gently hovering her paws over the bird to find the injury. She paused, her eyes falling to the wing. It was slightly bent. She grabbed some seaweed and cobwebs, making a makeshift brace. She wrapped the wing with the seaweed, then added the cobwebs, carefully straightening the wing. Cray paused when the bird let out a chirp. She finished making the bandage and stepped back. The bird lay there. Bloom grabbed some water in a leaf and added some heather nectar, stirring the nectar into the water. Dove told bloom that the nectar was sweet, and something to help kits swallow stuff easily. So...maybe that would work for the bird too? Bloom brought the sweetened water over to the bird and slowly dripped sugary water into the bird's beak. The bird, thankfully, drank the water down. Bloom sat back and exhaled in relief. She helped the bird finish the water and smiled as it fell asleep. Craft tried to think. What would the bird eat? Some kind of seeds...maybe sunflower seeds? Or acorns? Bloom grabbed some acorns and sunflower seeds from her nests, both of which she had collected from the border when she was out there. Ty brought the items back to the blue jay, and she waited for it to wake up. After a while, it blinked its eyes open. Crafty almost sobbed in relief. She offered the bird the smallest sunflower seed she had, smiling when the bird took it. The bird cracked open the seed and ate it. She offered the bird more and smiled when it ate all of the offered seeds. Craft sighed in relief. The blue jay was okay. Bloom did it. Craftypaw let the bird sleep, watching its little chest rise and fall. Cray might've fallen asleep as well...When she opened her eyes, the bird was hopping around merrily, chirping sweet little melodies. Bloom sat up with a smile. "Hey there, little bird! You seem to be feeling better!" She purred, offering a paw to the bird. It seemed to...smell her? But nevertheless, it hopped onto her paw. "Hi there...I'm glad you're feeling better! I'm glad I could save you!" Ty purred, setting the bird down to offer it more seeds. She sighed, heart twisting. "Oh. I'm going to have to let you go, aren't I?" Bloom murmured. Tea took off the brace, smiling when she saw the wing was straight. "I did it..." She whispered. That worked better than she expected. Wow. Bloom offered her paw once the bird was done eating. It hopped up her arm and sat on top of her head. Craft laughed and started to pad back to the forest. When she reached the forest, she padded further in, finding the place where she had saved the bird. She knelt down, letting the bird hop off. "Go on." She said mournfully. She had made a friend, just to lose it. Bloom turned around and started to pad off sadly. She heard something behind her. Turning around, she spotted the bird. "No. Go." She whispered. Craft turned back around and walked further away, trying to lose the bird. She turned back around, only to see the bird follow her again. They repeated this pattern until they reached the edge of the forest. . . . ⇢ ˗ˏˋ cont in n&c ༄ (✿)⋯•⋯•⋯•⋯•⋯•⋯•⋯•⋯•⋯•⋯•⋯•⋯•⋯•⋯•⋯•⋯(✿)

The bird cozied itself on her head, and Craftypaw let out a laugh, the guilt from Fate and Owl clearing for a moment, the pain from her father's memory lessening. "Since you seem to be staying with me, I suppose I should name you." She thought as they headed back to camp. "Blue...no, that's...too basic..." She mused. Bloom wanted something to connect herself to her father. "Spirit? No...that's my friend's name. Um...Ghost?" She asked, glancing up at the bird for its reaction. It let out a small, melodic chirp and Cray smiled. "Ghost it is. Let's go, Ghost." Tea mewed, entering the medic den. "You can stay in my nest...or you can find a perch. There might be one in the wall somewhere." Ty said, sapphire eyes scanning for a suitable place. She spotted a small nook above her nest and smiled, pointing it out to the bird. "Is that good? You can use any moss you need!" Craft purred, letting the bird flap up to the nook. She smiled when the bird dove down and grabbed some moss, bringing it back up to the nook. The bird dove again, grabbing more nest and some shells. "I'll leave you to get comfortable," Tee said. "Just...stay away from the herbs." She murmured teasingly, padding to the herb storage. She glanced over, watching Ghost decorate her new home. Crafty smiled to herself and sorted, happiness filling her chest. . . . ⇢ ˗ˏˋ erp! ༄ (✿)⋯•⋯•⋯•⋯•⋯•⋯•⋯•⋯•⋯•⋯•⋯•⋯•⋯•⋯•⋯•⋯(✿) Credits: Song: Ghost by Justin Bieber Craftypaw: me I really locked in to get this baby, and I was truly happy when I got the corvid.
