Last year on Halloween, I dressed in the gear in the project and ended up being called a furry all day. Almost everyone at my school is either ignorant or homophobic and anti-furry. Just to clarify, I am not a furry; I identify as alterhuman. This year, I want to wear the same outfit, but I’m nervous about being bullied again. The reason only three people in real life know that I’m aroace is because of two main reasons. First, I’m scared to tell my family, who might be homophobic or ignorant. Second, because of the situation I mentioned, I don’t want to disclose my aroace identity to many people at my school. They treat being gay or lesbian as an insult and seem to think that if you're LGBTQ+, you can only be gay or lesbian. When I tried telling a few people about my identity, they just laughed. One person who somewhat understood what aroace meant even replied, “Oh, so you’re ||dirtyly|| attracted to hippos?!”
Also, if you didn't read the stories correctly, I am not homophobic or anti-furry. I support LGBTQ+, furries, therians, alterhumans, etc. I also added a pic of my new drawing. Press space to see other pics.
