I’m walking. Is that the first thing I remember?…it’s so…crowded. Loud. Has it always been this way? It’s too much, it’s all so much more than what I planned for! I can’t- I can’t keep doing this. It feels like my heart is about to beat out my chest. “Not in front of people Estelle! Not- not now..” I mumble to myself, earning me a few weird looks from the surrounding people. Always people! Always to much! And then- there! That face! The face I saw before! The woman who looks…oddly close to me…”Just your mind, your mind that plays tricks. Keep walking” I pick up the pace, looking for somewhere safe to stay. Is that an abandoned warehouse? I take a sharp left, ignoring the shouts of people annoyed by me cutting them off, and walk into the alleyway beside it. There’s a door, unlocked? I walk over to it, trying the handle…and it gives? Not very secure if you ask me. But you can’t ask me! Because you’re not here. And you don’t understand. It’s empty inside. Safe. Cold. But it works. So I set down my bag. I don’t want to write right now, it’s not the time to do so.. then there’s something shifting. Probably….no.. it’s nothing. “You’re safe here. Just breathe….”
