The Neighborhood “She’ll be okay” was the last thing I heard before it turned dark. Pitch blackness surrounded me. I wasn’t used to this. All of a sudden, I was at a park, but it was strangely empty. No dogs, no humans, just a quiet ambience that disturbed me. The park was surprisingly clean, almost as it had been untouched since it was built. I looked around; I was at a hill with many giant yellow houses surrounding me. “So a neighborhood is here!” I thought to myself. I slowly walked towards the nearest house I could find. The more I walked towards it, the more I smelled a faint fruity aroma. It smelled like a citrusy fruit. At one point, I could even taste it without licking it. It burned my tongue, and I let out a yelp of fear. The door opened slowly by itself, and even though I hated what had happened, I went in out of curiosity. But as they say, it kills the cat. I was walking gently until I heard the floorboards creaking. But it was just me. The wind harshly blew onto my face and went up to the top floor, so I followed it. I saw it as a message. I ran upstairs as fast as I could, hoping I wouldn’t miss out on whatever was going on upstairs. I saw a few rooms; bedrooms to be exact. No items in it; just a bed and a desk. The atmosphere was calm but slightly eerie. I went to touch the bed, which felt soothing but rough at the same time. Around that time, I looked out of the window and realized a sunset was going on. I rushed outside so that I could have an enormous view to enjoy. For the first time, I smiled. The way the colors of peachy pink and burnt orange mixed together made me feel slightly warm on the inside. And that's when I heard a sound. A few taps. There again, I was surrounded by the pitch blackness.
Hope you enjoy! <3
