I actually have some lore for this guy: a small sample of DNA from the aliens that used to operate the ship sector I is located in (Sector E and I were magically connected to sector A by lore that is not yet to be decided) mixed with the Human DNA of a past traveler. The small microbe met with a piece of [REDACTED] that fell out of a testing tube during the takeover. The mixture of Homo-Alien DNA and [REDACTED] created this god-awful monstrosity, which started out as a small infection of [REDACTED] on the floor, but quickly spread into the walls, floors, and roofs. The only reason any of these are even visible as holes is because of H̵̢̏̀͘Ư̷͇̐̃̉Ṉ̶̖̾ͅG̷̨͖͉͉͒̕Ȅ̸̢̬̀̒R̸͍̂ for travelers. But yes, all of the I-1 instances are connected by a living network.
