Chapter 1: the panic 30 felt something shift in the air, like a group of fishermen feel something massive under their ship before even hearing it. His gills picked something up, a small wave of sound started to flow into his database. Then it grew louder and louder and louder. He duped his hands over his webbed gills to try to shield the noise from him but the screaming kept on coming. But then it became more distant. A sudden pop of trapped air finally escaped replaced it as he opened his eyes to see what was happening. Toffee was stood outside of his water tank staring at him, wrench in hand. “Come on slow poke, you’re one of the last to be let out by me,” She rolled her eyes and climbed onto two very tall stools to help him out of his contaminant. “Wow you’re a lot shorter in person, 16,” he snorted. “Shut up, how tall are you anyway?” She stared at him, he was at least three feet taller than her. “I’m 7 foot 4, pretty short for an experiment as the scientists say,” he looked judgmentally at the stools she had to stand on to be even close to his height. “4 foot 6,” 30 guessed with a smirk. “Alright well did you hear those screams? I think they’re from the scientists, bleh,” she stuck her younger out in disgust, 16 hated people complaining. “Come on Toffee, we need to find One before whatever is out there killing all the scientists kill him,” he grappled her arm urgently. “Hold up let’s see what I snatched from one of those testing rooms first,” Toffee stuck a hand into her enormous sized pockets and pulled out a small radio. “Walkie talkie? What do you this’ll-” Before she could even say the word do, she had disappeared into thin air. 30 instinctively through a hand out to try to feel for her, maybe she was invisible. But no. She had completely vanished. 30 stood there, frozen from shock. “16? Toffee!?” He yelled out, fearful. “Please come back!…” but no mater how much he were to call for her, she had been lost to whatever that thing was. 30 finally pulled his hand back, but he was snatched backwards and something cold pressed against his neck, sharp enough to draw blood. A voice spoke behind him and the metal entrance door to the room slowly opened, someone was in the doorway. Someone had a knife to his neck, ready to kill. Chapter 2: the bargain. 30 hadn’t realised what had happened till the cold blade of the knife pressed against his throat. He blinked a few times, trying to focus his vision on who was in the doorway. Someone tall, thin and drenched in blood stood there, lingering. 30 looked up to their face. It was One. One stared at him, shaking slightly. “One? What’s happ-” before he could finish, the man’s voice drifted through the air. The screaming and sirens seemed to just be an echo in the background as 30 and One listened to the scientists demands. “I’ll slice his little throat open unless you let me live,” The man’s voice was as sharp as the weapon he held. One just stared, he knew he couldn’t let this man live and tell the outside world about this raid of the lab. But he knew he couldn’t live without 30 I’m his world. One slowly lowered his drawn, bloodstained claw like fingers and stared at the knife that was held tightly against the person he cared most about’s neck. The scientist lowered the knife and darted for the back exit, before One could chase after him, 30 suddenly dropped to the floor, his screen filled with TV static. One ran and caught him before he could face plant into the ground. One hugged him tightly as if 30 was about to die. 30’s face flashed back onto his screen, staring wide eyed at One. He cried into One’s shoulder, finally letting out the tears he had held throughout his creation, the experiments tested on him and now this. 30 shook with every sob. One held him close, silently crying with him. Chapter 3: the escape Once 30 had stopped crying One helped him to his feet. 30 sniffled and hugged One again. One patted his back. “The rest of the group are in the van storage, I’m driving,” One said softly, as if 30 was made of glass. “Okay,” One led 30 through the hallways, only flashing with red lights, the sirens had disappeared, but the only thing that seemed to matter to him was the bodies of the scientists, lined messily against the walls. They walked for what seemed hours, but was most likely five minutes. They came to a stop facing a grey pull door with a grey handle. They heard footsteps behind them. One was about to dart around to attack when their familiar voices were heard above the noise of the distant sirens. “Wait for us!” One of the two voices called. It was Wisp and 28. “Wisp! 28!” 30 turned around and hugged them tightly. They all turned back to the door and 30 pushed on it. Of course it did not budge as it was a pull door. “Of course I can pull you, but no a actual pull door,” 30 said simply, turning to One. One seemed on the verge of laughing. “Oh shut it,” he pushed on the door and walked through into a massive room filled with black vans.
Chapter 4 is coming out very soon (maybe in a few hours) I will have to make a pt 2 project for it tho
