They both groaned internally, neither of them could’ve been more different. Rayne wore casual clothes—a tank top, cargo pants, combat boots, etc—while the girl? She was like a walking hot topic advertisement. Black and pink covered her head to toe and she had more beaded bracelets than Rayne thought was physically possible. On top of that, the crinkles near her hazel eyes meant she was the type to smile… a lot. “I’m Elli.” She said, interrupting Rayne’s train of thought. “Huh?” “My name? My name is Elli! Well, technically my full name is Elliana Rosemary Garrison but most of the people I know call me Elli—” The girl started chirping, like Rayne was a close friend or something. “Rayne Zero. But you can call me Rayne.” They said flatly, rolling their eyes in mild annoyance. “Oh my gosh! You have such a cool last name, I’m kind of jelly. Like, Zero? That sounds fantastic! Is it one of those fancy names where there’s a slash through the ‘O’ or is it like a normal way to spell Zero?” Elli rambled on excitedly. Rayne opened their mouth to make some sarcastic response when the bellhop bell rang through the air again, cutting them off. Immediately, they scooted backwards to the edge of the platform. Elli looked at them confused before it hit her. At least it wasn’t Rayne who got hit with the posh meteorite. The person, a boy, scrambled off of Elli like she carried every disease known to man-kind. He brushed off the expensive suit he was wearing, then turned towards Elli with a look of pure hatred. “Do you know how expensive this is?!” The poor girl sat up groggily, clutching her head that probably already ached from the tight ponytail her black hair was in before the school bully fell on her. “What?” “I said, ‘do you know how expensive this is?!’” The boy spoke with some fake british accent, like he himself was worth billions and wished to rub it in everyone’s faces. ┈ _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_┈
┈ _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_┈ Rayne pulled out the bottle of Advil they always kept in their pocket and slowly began to stand up, their focus on Elli and not much on the spoiled brat in front of them. Their face immediately turned sour when the boy spun around on them. “And you...” He thrusted his bony finger in their face. “Me?” “How dare you let me fall on this lower class buffoon and let her ruin my new suit! This cost my daddy $800! That’s like 3 of your parents' paychecks!” The boy whined which only caused their scowl to deepen. Ignoring the raging snob that was screaming at them, Rayne walked over to Elli and offered her the Advil in their hand. After the fall, teleportation, and having some posh jerk fall on your head? She definitely needed it. “Oh great, and now what are you giving her? Drugs?! Typical of you lower-class barbarians! Why if my butler Eric were here, he’d—” The feeble lecture from the ginger boy was cut short by the loud bell-sound as before. Immediately, his face paled and he ran to the edge of the plastic floor. “Oh God! It’s the bells of Satan! We’re all gonna die!” Rayne just rolled their eyes and moved away from the center of the platform where Elli was still trying to get the pain relievers out of their bottle. When she finally was able to get the correct dosage into her hand she was unfortunately bombarded with two more falling bodies. “Why me?!” She shrieked as she saw the twins falling out of the sky. “Maybe you’re magnetic?” Rayne answered, hands in their pockets with a sour expression on their face. It was one thing being trapped in this off-putting place with maybe one person, but that saying “three’s a crowd?” That was an understatement. As the other two unfortunate souls climbed off Elli, she glared at Rayne with a burning hatred that lasted for probably three seconds. “Falling kids from the sky, random dance tiles growing from the ground, anything’s possible it seems. Next thing you know, pigs will start flying!” She grumbled. Rayne moved to the newcomers, helping them to their feet, when one of them immediately turned on them with a dagger in his hand. He was taller, a little malnourished, and the scowl on his face definitely meant he was looking for someone to pin the blame on and found the perfect innocent bystander to do so. “Who are you? Where are we? Why have you brought us here?” The tall boy growled. “Um… Vince? I think that’s the least of our concerns.” The girl behind him, his twin from the looks of it, stuttered. Her pale blue eyes were glued on something in the sky above Rayne. Elli froze behind her and the rich kid seemed to be trying not to wet himself from his spot in the corner. Very slowly, Rayne turned around to see that they were all staring at. “Hello, my favorite little contestants…” ┈ _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_┈ A/N- So I had to split chapter one into two parts bc basically it was too long for scratch so yeah ToT Also, feel free to theorize in the comments and stuff!!
