+ probably some more for other reasons (cough rant abt horse racing problems may no likey) I do really think there is a problem in this part of the horseracing industry. If the horse has good pedigree/parents or race records they will most likely have to work even after their racing careers are over, and most of their children don't achieve great records or never race at all. Those ones are usually disposed of or just never achieve the same fame and glory as some others. For every champion, there are thousands of losers. People want to see records being broken and better horses, but that just means more and more wasted, forgotten ones. And a retirement farm can only hold so many horses and still stay afloat. I heard some states banned the "disposal" of race horses, so I really hope those rules and regulations can reach other countries too.
