I enjoyed creating my recent Bubble Universe project and looked around for other simple algorithms that yield interesting results. I created this project by combining the Hopalong attractor with 3D space. I've included a handful of save codes to view. If you find interesting galaxies of your own, name them and share them in the comments. The best ones will be added to my own in the instructions. The iterative equation uses three constants to dictate how the algorithm "hops" from point to point - x2 = y - sgn( x ) * sqrt( abs( b * x - c )) y2 = a - x x = x2 y = y2 I'm particularly pleased with my implementation of adaptive quality in this project. Whatever computer you run on, it will quickly calculate the maximum number of points per layer to maintain 30 frames per second. In TurboWarp, on a reasonably fast computer, it iterates from 1000 points to 50000 points in only a handful of frames! Uses my Save Game Toolkit for the save codes (including CRC generation to ensure invalid codes are rejected)
