Treaty of Kagoshima: Article I: a. The Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Kingdom of Belgium shall cease all hostilities and withdraw their armies and navies from enemy territories. b. All POW’s and recovered bodies of fallen soldiers shall be swapped and returned to loved ones. Article II: a. The Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Kingdom of Belgium shall unite into one state called the Federal Union of the Benelux with the capital of The Hague. b. The Union shall be made out of two states Belgium and the Netherlands with dependencies attached to them. The dependencies attached to the Dutch State include: Suriname, Dutch Caribbean. The dependencies attached to Belgium include: Luxembourg, the Congo. c. The national parliament will be seated in The Hague consisting of 150 seats. Every four years a general election will be held in the entire Union. d. The two states will have their own state senates with 75 seats each. These will be voted on in state elections every 4 years. e. The dependencies are overseen by their respective states. They will also have Provincial councils which are elected every four years that oversee the dependencies in greater detail. Article III: a. The royal houses of both nations will be merged, Prince Leopold III of Belgium will be promised the hand of a future daughter of the Dutch Queen Wilhelmina. After their marriage they will be immediately be crowned King and Queen. Until then King Albert and Queen Wilhelmina will both be the acting monarchs of the Union. b.
