No. No. This could not be real. Frecklekit was seeing things. She was delusional. But she wasn't. She stared down at her mother's body, blood spilling out of her. Too much blood, seeping into the cracks of the rocks. They would make stains that would never disappear. She was frozen from shock, a horrified look on her face. Red stained her vision. Her eyes watered. She blinked, trying to hold back those tears. Tears for a mother that showed her love. Tears for a cat who showed bravery and courage. Tears for her. A cat that she barely got to know before the stars took her away. No. She was not dead, Frecklekit told herself firmly, padding over to her mother's body. She placed her paw gently on her pelt. It was cold. Motionless. Lifeless. She kept her paw there, wanting to hear heartbeats. She wanted her mother to lift her head and say it was all okay. It should have been all okay. Why wasn't it all okay? She thought her mother loved her. Loved her to the moon and the stars. Loved her so much that she wouldn't bear to leave her. She sobbed over her mother's body, over a cat she barely got to know. And she stayed there. Frecklekit lifted her head, tear stains on her cheek. It was night. The sky had already grew dark, following the cycle it did every day. As if nothing had happened. As if a cat didn't just fall down on die. Not just any cat. Her mother. Then those tears turned to something darker. Fury. Tears of fury rolled down her cheek as she stared up at the stars, her eyes darkening. It was them. It was them who took her mother away from her. It was them who turned her world around and then acted like nothing had happened. "I will destroy all of you, and get revenge for what you did to my mother," she vowed, sharpening her claws against the rocks. ____________________________________________ So. Now, Frecklekit will be trapped in a void of grief and heartbreak, always thinking of Ochreserenity, and will be a Dark-Forest follower. She thinks of her mother constantly, and now cares less about what others think about her, but she wants to cause trouble on all to get revenge on StarClan.
