Today I decided to teach Timber the stop command, “Whoa.” I started out by bringing her out on a leash and in her harness, she’s gotten much better with the harness and now doesn’t mind. I then began walking her around, before stopping and saying “Woah” shorty after. I repeated that a few times, before beginning to say the command closer and closer to the stop. After about a dozen times doing that I tried saying the command before, and she stopped before I stopped. I praised her with some pets and a treat. I kept repeating that same exercise until I felt that she was confident enough with it, I then brought her inside, knowing that we were one big step closer to being able to sled!
