Most of you know that I've been quietly anti-AI, and I don't advertise it due to the fact that its pretty controversial, but I can't stay quiet when I've had a front row seat to AI overtaking an artist. So this is me saying it now, and I'll only say it once. I hate for this to be my second project even but it is a necessary announcement.
Context for those wondering: My class has to come up with a shirt that we wear on special occasions. I'd been the only one coming up with designs and one in particular was criticized more that the others. So I spend several hours drawing and creating a design that we were all good with to transfer onto an online design app, and the next day I'm told that new designs were submitted. Low and behold, those designs were the same design concept as the one I made that was heavily critiqued. AND, as a cherry on top, it was blatantly AI. But it won the vote and my hours of work were replaced by a computer, several word prompts, and a couple seconds for the machine to think. THIS HAS TO STOP. MY WORK WASN'T NECESSARILY STOLEN, BUT IT WAS MOST CERTAINLY REPLACED. AND I KNOW OTHER ARTISTS HAVE EXPERIENCED SIMILAR OR WORSE. AI CANNOT REPLACE THE HUMAN BRAIN AND IT'S CREATIVITY.
