September 4th was the day I found TSS and created Sunsetcourage. I don't know if it was exactly September 4th but it was near that time as on September 4th was the day she was accepted. I was so excited to start on my new little birdcat character. Although at first I didn't know what to do with her and her first few Roleplays were basically just testing the waters. And then about a month or so after she came into existence was when she met Fire-lilykit. A feisty little hybrid who seemed de@dset on the idea that she couldn't fly. That was when I really decided to start formulating her lore. And well...I've realized I never really told that story. So here you go. Sunsetcourage's Journey. ----------------Kithood----------- Sunsetkit was found at the edge of the territory, alone and abandoned. Her feathers didn't hold the vibrant colors they do now. Instead it was a pale blue. She was named Sunset because that's the time they found her. At sunset. It didn't take long for those same warriors to collide with two slightly older kits. Who were named Foggy and Stormy. They were taken in as well. But despite Foggy and Stormy being older (By about half a moon). They accepted Sunset as they're little sister. Sunsetkit was always a curious, happy little thing. Despite being the smallest and youngest of her adopted litter she was probably the most bold. Always looking up at the older warriors with awe in her eyes and bombarding them whenever they returned from patrol. It was quite obvious. She wanted to fly. Sunsetkit had two older brothers who adored her. Foggykit and Stormykit and of course the best friend who shared that exact same enthusiasm. Talonkit. For the first five moons of her life it was good. She'd play with her brothers and Talonkit, bombard warriors until they growled at her to leave them alone and of course...getting multiple bruises from trying to fly off the roof of the nursery. Until that day. The day she discovered she could glide. The day she became too bold...the day Foggykit d!ed...Then suddenly she wasn't the bouncy, bubbly kit that bombarded you with questions. She didn't leave the nursery unless dragged out and even then she would angrily snap at anyone who approached. Even her remaining brother and best friend. She didn't visit the medicine den with bruises and a sheepish smile anymore. Her wings stayed tight to her side and sometimes others would see her glaring at them as if they were the reason her brother was gone. ----------Apprenticeship---------- Strangely enough her apprentice ceremony wasn't delayed. Probably because everyone in the clan could see the immense guilt the kit carried. She was named Sunsetpaw and given to a cat named Cliffheather. Cliffheather was gentle but firm. Only taught her what she needed to learn. Nothing more. Nothing less. Stormypaw and Talonpaw (Who were both a moon older than her) stuck by her side even when she snapped at them. Eventually Stormypaw convinced her to fly and later Talonpaw convinced her to try glide hunting. Her favorite hunting method now. Slowly. Painfully slowly. She healed with the help of her older brother and best friend. Then Stormypaw got sick. He told her it was just a bit of whitecough and it would go away and Sunsetpaw believed him. Why wouldn't she? Then as they all woke up one morning...he was gone. Just like that. No goodbye. Just...gone. At this point her light blue feathers had become messy and splotchy. Showing vibrant yellows, oranges and reds underneath if you looked closely. After that. She spiraled into work. Gaining praises from Cliffheather while she was at it and concern from Talonpaw. Talonpaw was the only cat Sunsetpaw felt she could trust. The only one she could cry in front of. Then came time for their assessments. Cliffheather had told her to go catch a hawk. A hawk out of all things! She asked why and Cliffheather only gave her a stern look. A look that said don't question me. And so despite grumbling all the while Sunsetpaw managed to track down a hawk and with a bit more of a scuffle than she thought. Take it back to camp. That day at sunset was the day she was no longer the bubbly Sunsetkit or the spiteful Sunsetpaw. But a newly named warrior by the name of Sunsetcourage. She didn't know what she did to deserve such a noble name. A name that suggested bravery and strength. But that day. As the sun set on the Vanishing Peaks and her last pale blue feathers gave way to one similar if not the same as the sunset before her. But that day she promised. She would live up to it and wear it with pride. -----Warriorhood----- Most of you know the story of her warriorhood if you've kept track of her SRP's and Roleplays with other characters. (Wildfirelament in particular) plus I am much to lazy to try and find all of those and sum them all up.
TSS has been a turning point for me. Through my mistakes and the fun of just Roleplaying with others. I love TSS and the creativity it allows and the acceptance of everyone in this little community. So here I'll just thank a few people in particular because I wish to. (I am not quitting anytime soon do not worry) -Ace- Ace I know you'll never see this but I'm putting it here anyway. I can't thank you enough for helping me point out my mistakes even though it must have stressed you out like nothing else. Thanks to you I've grown from a naive girl to someone who can be just a little more empathetic. So even though you'll probably never see this. Thank you. -Silver- Silver you've also changed things for me. You helped me actually build Sunset's lore and not just stick to the norm of a cat having a mate and kits. It's thanks to you and Wlam that Sunset has gone through so much character development and I cannot thank you enough for letting Sunset be Wlams mentor and mother. I'm pretty sure that's all of them that I wanted to do that involved Sunsetcourage. So uh. Yeah. Hope you all have a nice day. :)
