Air France 4590 Survivors:0 Dead:113(4 ground) Cause: A strip of metal fell off a DC-10. soon before the Air France Concorde lined up for takeoff. On Take off the Concorde hit the strip of metal causing a tire to pop the rubber of the tire hitting the fuel tank causing a fire and damage to some of the electrical cables, making it impossible to retract the gear . Because the Aircraft had passed its v1 status they were forced to take off. However they were unable to climb past 200 ft. Due to the loss of thrust because the pilots had shut down the engine thinking it was a engine fire and the drag caused by the gear the plane stalled the aircraft t causing it to crash into a hotel.
