~About Me + Experience~ Hello there! I'm @Gryphonfire but you can call me either Birdie or Gryphon (either or, I don't really care all that much). I'm a high school junior who enjoys reading, drawing, and of course... writing. I've been roleplaying since long before I realized that scratch RPs were a thing (though admittedly, it is still quite a new revelation to me). First starting on google docs with my friends, then moving on to other websites to roleplay, and I eventually was led to Scratch by the same friend I started off on docs with! Admittedly TFC is new to me, Generations is where I got my start on Scratch! I've had several characters there in the past year: Goldfleck (elder at death), Victoryvestige (senior warrior at death), Morphopaw (nearly a warrior at death), and Forktailpaw (my current character in that RP). So now I'm looking to expand my roleplaying interests on scratch into TFC! ~Which Kit & Why?~ I will be applying for Hearth today! Admittedly, the first thing that drew me to him was his design and his name! I love the fire-like splotches on his design and the heart, which really interested me because hearths are considered to be the "heart" of a home and THAT got me thinking about the idea of a warm, loving type of character with a bit of a fiery streak and I just couldn't help myself! I already have so many possible ideas for him, and I believe this is the first time that a character has ever stuck out this much to me idea-wise (generally I'm more of a go with the flow type for characters, but THIS GUY I just have ideas!) ~Activity Level and Why I Should Get Hearth~ I'm an 8/10 on good weeks! During the school year, my activity level can change quite a bit, but I generally don't drop too far below an 8/10 (unless I am of course, sick (sobs in got sick as I was working on this application whyyy) or have a project to do). Why should I get Hearth? As I've mentioned, I've been roleplaying for some time now, which means that I've got quite the experience. I believe that, along with the amount of ideas I have for Hearth, makes me a good roleplayer for Hearth. Even with how vague the ideas may start out as, I always build up my characters' stories and lore, regardless of how few ideas I start out with for them. I'm also very active in gens, and I hope to be the same way for TFC. ~Personality~ (+) Warm-hearted, Affectionate, Gentle, Optimistic (=) Observant, Predictable, Expressive, Soft-spoken (-) Impulsive, Naive, Clingy, Nosy Just like his namesake, Hearth has a warm heart. whether it's to his own family or a cat he has just met, he can't help but show gentle kindness and compassion towards them. Everything he does is soft, from the way he speaks towards others to the way he treats his surroundings. He's not the type to bring out his claws for any reason without being provoked first and will use caution whenever he is dealing with anything that could be any bit fragile. He is very optimistic in his outlook of life, believing that everyone deserves a chance, regardless of who they are. This optimism unfortunately, leads to Hearth being a bit naive about the world. He truly believes that everyone will be kind if given the chance, which is, unfortunately for him, not entirely the case. Hearth is extremely affectionate towards other cats, especially his own family. He'll often snuggle close to his littermates or father and comb any leaves or whatnot out of their fur for them. This leads to him being more on the clingy side, often staying close to at least one member of his family rather than going off on his own. Also due to his clingy nature, he can often be found sticking his nose into others' business, regardless of whether or not they have invited him to be involved in whatever they are doing. He often does this impulsively, without thinking much of the consequences of it. He often takes other actions in a similar way, leaping first and thinking about it later. Despite his impulsivity, Hearth is actually quite a predictable cat. Sure, he on occasion will do something out of the blue, but his impulsive actions are more often than not leaping to help without asking/thinking first. Generally, he can be expected to take the same course of action, which often can be boiled down to "help them" or "offer comfort". Even when it's not within his "normal" actions, it can still be somewhat easy to predict him, as his expressions often tell more than just his words do. He never tries to hide how he feels, wearing his heart right on his chest for everyone to see. Hearth, when he's not actively doing anything he considers important, can often be found observing what others are doing. He finds it fascinating to consider why others might take the actions they choose to take.
~Personality Continued~ As he gets older, he will grow to be a nurturing sort of cat, with a fiery, hot-headed side of him that is only shown to those he really dislikes. I imagine his older self will keep a lot of the traits his younger self has, though he'll hopefully be taught to be a little less trusting! (This section ended up longer than I meant it to be... oops) ~Identity~ Will remain cisgender (he/him) + be pan ~Codewords~ As the autumn leaves changed from their green hues, the heir watched the seasons change ~Family Relations + Plot Ideas~ Hearth will be incredibly close with all of his family (hopefully). If any of them were to ever leave to the point where he would hardly see them, Hearth would likely be heartbroken at just the idea. Prince - Prince’s “overly caring” type of parenting will likely be the main reason why Hearth will turn out so caring towards others! I think Hearth will stick close by Prince, even as he gets older, since Hearth isn't going to be very keen on going far from the ones he loves. Littermates - Hearth will care deeply about both of his littermates! Even though he's the middle child in his litter, he'll take on a protective tone over both of them, especially as the trio grows older. He'd probably be heartbroken if either of them ever left him. Other family - He'll care for them just as much as he does Prince and his littermates! Of course, the idea of him being protective over cats with much more experience than him doesn't quite play out well... but he will certainly try! Plot ideas (ooo fun!): - My main idea for his life is that he grows up heavily shaped by those around him! I outlined a personality he'll have to start of course, and an idea for where I want him to go, but I also hope for him to be heavily shaped by those in the castle - I think in the beginning of his life, he'll see the Castle as home, since all of the cats that he really cares about are there! And then as he get older his "hearth" will be the cats he's around, rather than the castle, maybe? - Kind of... get "burned" by his trustworthiness at some point? Like, trust the wrong cat and have the trust be broken. - As mentioned earlier, as he gets older, he will have a bit of a hotheaded side to him... So a potential plot idea was for him to "explode" on someone he actually cares about! And then have to deal with the fall out because he does actually really care about this cat - In general I just... really want him to find a lot of cats to care about! And this seems like the kind of RP to play out this kind of character so... yay! ~Roleplay Examples~ SRP Example: The crickets could be heard outside as the young tom crept through the branches of the weeping willow. Hearth nudged them aside as he burst out into the moonlit landscape. He wasn't quite sure he was to be out this late... but there were fireflies out! He tilted his head up towards the flying creatures. They were like stars, almost, except they had a habit of blinking out before turning back on their light. Of course, the actual stars that peered down at him like dozens upon dozens of eyes were equally as awe inspiring. Hearth flicked his ear as he heard someone call out his name. Well... he figured it wouldn't take too long for someone to notice that he was missing. "Coming!" He called out, casting one last glance at the fireflies before bounding back to be beside his family.
