The MX-42 Grandeur is Teutonia’s brand-new Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV), designed to operate as a core component of the “Shepherd System” alongside the E48 Europian Hawk and the E44 Aegis. The MX-42 is intended to serve as the “joints” of the Teutonian Air Force, connecting its various aerial assets and allowing them to operate together as a unified combat network. The Shepherd System is built around the concept of a parent aircraft directing and coordinating multiple MX-42 Grandeurs. A standard formation consists of three UCAVs operating around their designated parent aircraft. Each MX-42 can be controlled individually by the parent aircraft, allowing the pilot to assign different tasks and commands to each UCAV. Alternatively, the aircraft can place the UCAVs into follow mode, allowing them to automatically maintain formation and remain with the parent aircraft without requiring constant manual control. The MX-42’s control system also allows command authority to be transferred away from the parent aircraft when necessary. Control of the UCAVs can be handed over to a separate entity, most notably a Teutonian airbase equipped with dedicated UCAV operators. This allows ground-based personnel to assume direct control of the MX-42s while the parent aircraft continues its own mission. This capability allows the Grandeur to act as a crucial link between Teutonia’s manned aircraft, unmanned systems, and ground-based command infrastructure. Rather than operating as an isolated UCAV, the MX-42 is designed to function as part of a larger interconnected force, tying different assets together and allowing control to move seamlessly between airborne and ground-based operators. Through the Shepherd System, the MX-42 Grandeur effectively serves as the connective tissue of the Teutonian Air Force — the “joints” that bind its aircraft and operators into a single, flexible combat system.
