The 'Land of the Blackened', as named by the Chief of the Baleset Orr, was assumed as Purgatory following the Unsterbliche's destruction of their world. To their knowledge, they were the only people to escape death's grasp, and so were destined by the Parasite that runs through their veins to continue in the name of humanity. The problem, of course, was that this was an unknown place with an unknown nature. It was a pitch black sky covered in the gleaming of lights that never were, casting on greyscale sand that went on into the distance. The coast seemed to have reappeared atl east, being a clearlooking war. It was best to settle this place. One of the first things that the Tribe paid attention to was agriculture. Coming from a semi-sedentary people, they had very much been experienced with the local crops and brought a multitude of seeds with them if they were to find new lands on their now deconstruction trireme. Along the coastline of the sandy island, irrigation specifically for fast-growing, poor condition-tolerant plants, mostly Cowpeas, Blackpeas, Raspberries, and Sorghum. Sea Couch & Ryegrass would be employed onto the land as a pioneer species to introduce nitrogen-fixing bacteria and fertilize the soil alongside appliance of human and parasitic feces (ick). The Parasite itself would hold much of its food reserves that would help to supply the small tribe's nutritional requirements over the period until they can get them from agriculture, explaining the lack of starvation. The Wild Olive & Desert Balom would be planted as semi-arid survivalist trees that would have their wood used for later on. Some Lichen, Moss, and Mold had hitched a ride on the Trireme and would quickly spread onto the barren land as well.. For husbandry, they had brought a couple species to make the jump alongside the Flora. On the trireme were stored many live specimen of House Crickets, Water boatmen, and Mealworms. These insects would be put under watch and fit into spaces for breeding and eventual domestication to act as food. Feed will be done through the parasite's regurgitation of stored foodstuff for the insects until suitable replacements are found. An unfortunate survivor was the Migratory Locusts, who had eggs which hatched and stuck onto the coastal beach to become an annoyance (and foodsource, maybe) of the population. Peculiarly, a batch of Domestic Silkworms and turkey were brought along by a few inhabitants, the Turkey in particular being the only vertebrate besides the Humans themselves to survive the event. While all of these species' would make the transition, the tribe itself would need to make shelter on these lands. The Trimere was deconstructed into its wooden components, rearranged primarily as fencing and the sort to cage the various animals. Huts would be made by burning the inland soil into clay, a process very primitive at first but to be made better over time as more materials could be acquired. The Sky Lights would be studied and mapped ontop the mud walls of the largest hut, which acted as the meeting place of the tribe. Calendars were abandoned due to the intrinsic nature of the place. It would take patience to live again after the death of a world, but they seemed content with that.
