hands down one of the best show ever made in fact this is the plot from memory in notes and credits
Aang is a 12-year-old boy who is secretly the Avatar, the only person who can master all four elements: water, earth, fire, and air. He disappears for 100 years after being trapped in an iceberg. When he wakes up, the Fire Nation has conquered much of the world and wiped out the Air Nomads. Aang learns that he must master all four elements and defeat Fire Lord Ozai to end the war. He travels with Katara and Sokka, learning waterbending and eventually earthbending and firebending. Along the way, they make friends like Toph, a powerful earthbender, and face enemies including Prince Zuko, who is hunting Aang to regain his honor. Zuko eventually realizes that his father is cruel and joins Aang's group. He teaches Aang firebending, while his uncle Iroh helps him understand what honor really means. In the final battle, Aang fights Fire Lord Ozai. Instead of killing him, Aang uses a special Avatar ability to take away Ozai's firebending. Zuko becomes Fire Lord and promises to bring peace. The war ends, and Aang and his friends begin rebuilding the world. Aang and Katara become a couple, while Zuko starts repairing the damage caused by the Fire Nation. Basically: Aang goes from a scared kid who ran away from his responsibility to the Avatar who saves the world without losing his compassion. yes from memory
