─────────── ✦ ✦ ✦ ─────────── '' Mom... have you come back to see me in the form of the moon? The rays fall on my pelt and make me feel as if I am in your embrace once more, but it is not as comforting nor warm... '' ''...Soulfaith? Is that you? The thousand stars seem so much like that twinkle in your eye, but never as bright! Oh, what I'd give to see them again! Where have you gone, leaving me here all alone? '' Two figures emerged. Leopardsnarl grasped for them. ═══════════════════════════════════ Ah. She was dreaming once more. She rubbed a paw across her face. What was that noise? It was some sort of a poor, pitiful sound that came from a little crevice that made the perfect place to hide... Kits. Leopardsnarl staggered towards the sound. Four kits were mewling, with no mother or father in sight. Leopardsnarl definitely wasn't a self-righteous do-gooder, but how could she ignore them when she herself was a kit taken in by Igniteflare? Sighing, she urged them out with her nose, purring softly. ─────────── ✦ ✦ ✦ ─────────── i. INTRODUCTION Hello! Welcome to Leopardsnarl's first and hopefully not last litter! BACKSTORY + PARENTING STYLE With the loss of the two closest cats to her, Igniteflare and Soulfaith, Leopardsnarl has been incredibly withdrawn and quiet lately. When she thinks no one can see her, she cries. When she cannot sleep at night, she escapes outside for fresh air; camp is too suffocating. There, she allows herself to finally relax in the lava pools, and gazes at the stars and moon. Strangely, she finds solace in the luminous celestial bodies, often imagining it is Igniteflare and Soulfaith watching down on her. When she finds these kits, Leopardsnarl has not yet fully walked out from her grieving yet and is not capable of giving her kits all the love they need, however she tries her best. She refers to her kits as 'moonlings'; a reference to the comfort she found in the moon as of late. However she is particularly attached to one kit, Clouded-leopard. Perhaps because of the kit's similar coat to hers, she finds herself spending much more time with her 'moon' - as she likes to call Clouded - although she does not wish to show favoritism. However, the victory of her selfish inner self over the cat she strives to be is revealed in this bias. ─────────── ✦ ✦ ✦ ─────────── iv. THE KITS COUGARKIT [ preclaimed by ] 17'' . amab . no research required description the eldest of the litter, and certainly carries that status well. being the largest out of the four and also having the sturdiest build, cougarkit's pelt is brown toned with darker shades along his back and lighter ones closer to his belly, chest, the back of his hind legs and tail. his front paws are beige like the edges of his cheeks and snout, while his back paws are a brown of earthy tone. his eyes are blue, and when alighted, his fur bursts into a brilliant, bright yellow, dancing and illuminating the night. perhaps he could be the one to drag his mother through this endless dark night? CARACALKIT 12'' . afab . no research required description this kit carries a sweet smile, and although the second eldest, will grow up to be the shortest. her build is lean, though powerful muscles ripple under her pelt. soft curled fur gather at her ankles, cheeks and ear tips. her colors are too of dark brown, with lighter coffees on her legs, chest and snout. her tail is dark brown and this extends from her back to her neck, dotted speckles of coffee. similar speckles appear on the areas of her leg. caracal's eyes are red like rubies, and flames are yellow like gold... a sign of luck to come? ─────────── ✦ ✦ ✦ ─────────── cont. in notes and credits
