Hi, it’s Faith. I know I haven’t been on Scratch for a hot minute; I’ve been really busy helping out at my horse rescue and doing other things over the summer, so I haven’t had much time to post. However, over the summer, it’s come to my attention how serious bullying has become, so I’d like to make a little PSA about that. (It’s really long, so I don’t expect you to read the whole thing, I just have to get this OUT in the world, I’ll also probably post this on my YouTube if you’d like to check that out!) In all seriousness, though, I don’t get why people care about who you like. If you’re LGBTQIA+, that’s fine by me! And if you don't like gay people, you don't have to be gay, of course. But I don’t understand why someone being gay affects your life. I know people who will be perfectly fine with a friend of mine, but if I said something like “oh they’re actually non-binary” or “oh he’s gay,” they’d change their whole opinion and view of that person just because of that. For example, I could have a gay friend that is the nicest person, and a family member could love them, but if I or my friend told that family member that they're gay, the family member would change their view of that person. And I won’t call you out for being h0m0ph0b1c or tr@nsph0bic, as long as you don't voice it. If you don't like a specific group of people, you don't have to say it out loud and make people feel insecure about being themselves or hurt their feelings. It’s mean, it’s hurtful, and it can make someone feel really uncomfortable or upset. So don’t do it. If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say it at all.? What I’m trying to get at is that if you don't like gay people, or the LGBTQIA+ community, or trans people, just don't interact with them. You don't have to be besties; you don't even have to be friends. But don't voice your hate for everyone to hear, because it can put a damper on people’s feelings and ruin their day. I'd also like to address bullying. Bullying is NOT OKAY, and you shouldn't do it. I know that a lot of people are scared to get on any social media because they're scared of being bullied. So be mature, and don't do it. GROW. UP. I just watched one of my favorite YouTuber’s newest videos, addressing comments that are asking her really personal questions (which you should NEVER do) or commenting about her weight. She was crying and sounded really hurt, which is something I’ve never heard from her. She addressed how you don't know WHAT people have been through before they started posting on social media or if they've been struggling off-screen. When you bully someone, you have NO idea what they're going through outside of school, work, or off of social media; you have no idea if they're depressed, or ashamed, or insecure. And if you say something that hurts that person’s feelings, even if you didn't mean it, PLEASE — apologize to them. Some of you guys really need to learn to grow up. Just DON’T BULLY PEOPLE! You should have learned from a VERY young age that this isn't okay, but I know there are a lot of people out there who need to hear this, whether it's because you are a bully or because you have been or are being bullied. If you have been bullied, I'm so, so sorry, but NEVER take it out on another person. If you ever need someone to talk to, I’m trying my best to be more available on Scratch now that summer is over. I’m still busy, but I’ll start to be more active now. Here's my chatroom link if you ever need or want to talk to me: Anyways, I know there are a lot of people on Scratch, but also things like TikTok, YouTube, Insta, Pin of the Rest, etc., that are against furries, or they're h0m0ph0b3s, or tr, or r, and if you're one of those people, if you don't have something nice to say, DON'T SAY IT AT ALL. If you don't voice negative comments about people, then I have no reason to call you out. Cyberbullying is also a huge issue and sometimes easier to do than bullying in person. Being anonymous online can make people feel bolder about bullying someone than saying it to someone's face in person. Bullying can also lead to things like depression or physical harm/attempts. Don't be the cause of something like that. So, grow up. Stop hating on people, especially about things that they cannot control, like their weight, race, religion, or sexuality. I've said this a lot, but it is NOT cool. You also shouldn't bully or joke about gender, ethnicity, habits, looks, etc.
We also shouldn't be copying, tracing, stealing art and ideas, etc. It's not okay, and it's why me - along with many other Scratchers - are scared or don't want to post their art or ideas. Because they're afraid someone will take it and use the idea as their own. Well, I could go on about this forever. But, obviously, I can't. If you read the whole thing, thank you for listening to me, and go find someone, online or in real life, a friend or a stranger, and give them a compliment today! Go make someone's day better; give a homeless person something to help them get back on their feet, compliment a stranger’s outfit, tell a friend that you appreciate them, or hold a door. Maybe you could even do a kind thing for someone every day. Every small action can make the world a better place. I hope this helps anyone who needs it. Have a great day, everyone! Love, Faith ♡☾
