Cookie stood beside the alter, her heart racing with excitement. Any minute now, her best friend would be getting walked down the aisle by her dads onto the alter for her to finally get married. Cookie glanced over at Oliver, who was already atop the alter, a nervously giddy grin plastered on his face and his hands patting furiously against his sides. It felt awfully weird to Cookie to be here in this moment. Something about watching her best friends get married reminded her about the bittersweet passage of time and how old she was really getting, even though she was only seventeen. She felt still so young compared to her friends, who were only about a year or two older than her, Oliver sitting at an "unc" almost twenty, and Madeliv resting at a good eighteen and a half. /At least I'm not THE youngest in the group/ Cookie thought as she scanned the crowd one more time, her eyes planting on Emelia, who Cookie had just remembered got her drivers license a few weeks prior. Then the wedding bells began, and Cookie's chest leaped with excitement and a grin spread across her face as she looked towards the entrance of the wedding hall down the velvety wine red carpet. The first thing she saw was Alastor's tall slender figure, then Madeliv and her sparkling magnificent wedding gown, and Lucifer trailed up on Madeliv's other side, all arm in arm, swiffing her slowly up the long carpet row. from the other side of the alter, very faintly, Cookie heard Oliver's breath catch in his throat for a moment , and through a smile that reached all the way up to his antennae, tears were creeping their way into his eyes. It felt like hours once Madeliv finally reached the Alter, and Alastor and Lucifer veered off to the front row, Lucifer dabbing his eyes with a handkerchief. The Officiator began to speak, "We are gathered here today to celebrate the loving get together of a man and a woman in the ceremony of marriage, Oliver Matteo-Friedrich Whitman, and Madeliv Étienne Morningstar." The rest of the ceremony went on peacefully, and it was coming to a close. "Any objections to this marriage speak now, or forever hold your peace," as the silence of the crowd smiled on them, the officiator then declared, "You may now kiss the bride"
