My story: Every young child has a dream. Some dream of flying into the deep blue expanse. Others dream of exploring worlds unknown, and meeting new things. But Valeria was different. She didn’t want to fly or explore. She wanted to be a writer. She wanted to create worlds of possibilities, dream of new people and most of all, publish her works. So young Valeria got to work! But as she grew older and soon became a teenager, she began to see how many stories were in the world. There were millions of books, stories and worlds that were better than her own, and for a while, she began to give up. “My stories are the worst!” She would say, as she read the works of famous authors, and well known story writers. But one day, as she was cleaning her shelf, she saw a small journal she had written in a long time ago. Opening its weathered cover, she began to read, and soon she saw what she could do to fix it, and it would be the best story in the world! Finally, she had found an idea that would work! So she edited, and drafted and worked day and night to create and shape the old story. Soon she finished it, and prepared to send it to the publisher. After spending a year working on it, she felt confident as she sent it that it would do well with the publisher, and that she’d be accepted, but a few weeks after she sent it she got an email:
Dear Valeria, Thank you for submitting your story. We have read in and analyzed it, and have decided that it is not a good fit for our company. We hope that you will find another company, and that you will have luck in doing so. ~Dreamer Well Publishers At this email, Valeria was left heart broken. In anger, she threw the manuscript in the garbage, and vowed to never write again. The years passed, and Valeria grew to be a woman. She had forgotten about her passion for writing, and now was an accountant, at a prestigious law firm. But one night, as the lonely woman went to bed in her small apartment, she had a dream. It was about a girl who wanted to be a writer. And who tried and tried, till in anger she gave up, and lost her dream. She then grew up to be miserable and lost all her imagination. In the morning, Valeria woke up, with a story. And as the years after that passed, Valeria wrote, writing of all of her ideas and worlds. And even though she was rejected many times, she still came back, always trying.
