We found out that we lost 2 great people yesterday. I wasn't that connected to Dolly Parton, but I'm still sad that she died. Tim Curry dying was something that impacted me more. I always loved his over-the-top acting & vocal performance, & I was deeply saddened by his passing as well. However, today was when I was hurt the most... Optimus Prime has always been my hero since I first got into Transformers as a toddler. Since the Aligned continuity & the live-action movies were the most recent at the time, Peter's voice was the one that I heard as Optimus. My dad also showed me the original G1 cartoon a lot, so that really made me consider Peter as THE voice of Optimus. Finding out that Peter died was like finding out that Optimus died; scratch that; Peter was Optimus, & Optimus died with Peter. Only Transformers fans, along with Peter's family & friends, will ever truly understand how upsetting Peter's passing truly is. He was as kindhearted & friendly as Optimus Prime himself, & did an amazing job voicing the leader of the Autobots. May Peter Cullen rest in peace. 'Til all are one.
