On Wednesday, August 26, 2026, Peter Cullen passed away peacefully at 85 years old in his home in Los Angeles surrounded by his family. Peter Cullen has left a lasting impression as the voice of Optimus Prime since the original Generation 1 cartoon in 1984. Optimus Prime was his favourite role. Optimus reached countless people, including me, as their childhood hero, with Peter always delivering him as the calm leader of the Autobots. Rest in Peace, Peter Cullen. 'Til all are one.
