The Mask They always told me to hide what I am That I should stop And join the masquerade Every now and then I question if I'm still there I wonder if I'm acting Or being genuine I tried pulling off the mask Now wanting to see How long it would last It stayed there and pulled at my skin Maybe the mask itself would win Every now and then I feel it crack And I never know How to react But the mask can bend back and forth Never showing its full worth All that's behind that mask Is an empty shell Never truly knowing How it really felt I fight to try to break it But it shows me all the hurt Gives me a glimpse of its magic And how it somewhat works I wonder why my memories are [crap] The mask took them from me It threw them out Never told me about it I tell others to express themselves And never throw their identities on to shelves How do I express them tho? Who is Me?
