The coach rustled with excitement as the children boarded. Today was the day! They were going to the otter zoo. Allie’s inner otter danced within her as she checked her otter bag to see if she had remembered everything. Noise cancelling headphones — she didn’t like loud noises, like otters. Her therian otter journal. — The one with the otters swimming in the lake with the therian symbol on it. — mentioned before Her Asian Small clawed otter fact book. — mentioned before Her ‘Avery’s therian story’ chapter book. — mentioned before. Her sea otter fact book Her otter pencil case — to write in her journal. She managed to snag a spot with nobody next to her in the middle rows. One hour later, they arrived. “First up, the Asian small clawed otters,” Mrs Rosemary called out, walking to the first cage. The otters were lazing about. Allie pushed through to reach the otters. The otters noticed her and swam right up to her, nuzzling the cage, trying to get to her. Allie put her hand against the glass in excitement. She nuzzled the glass cage wall and squeaked in joy. Allie ignored the class staring in awe, she just ran to the other side of the cage. The otters followed. She ran to the other side, playing a game with the otters. The Asian small clawed otter caretaker chuckled as she walked past. “Not something you see often. A therian! I will ask the boss if she can have a part time job here,” the caretaker thought aloud, smiling. Allie dropped onto all fours and ran along with them. “Time for the next stop: Spotted Necked otters,” Mrs Rosemary announced, leading the way. Allie felt a surge of excitement.
