SPREADING THE GOSPEL ----------------------------------------- As we said last project, part of being a Christian is spreading the Gospel. This is to introduce other people to God and become followers of Christ too. 1) How can I start telling someone about Jesus? 2) How do I tell someone the Gospel? 3) What is the best way to spread the word of God? 4) What if I tell someone and they won't believe in God? 5) Why is it our responsibility as Christians to spread the Gospel? 1) How can I start telling someone about Jesus? Start by praying for them faithfully everyday. God will help you talk with wisdom and tell them the best way. When you talk with them, listen to what they say. Ask genuine questions, don't stick with a rigid script. Also remember that your actions everyday are important. If someone sees you being mean and doing things that God doesn't approve of, then go and talk to them about being a Christian, they aren't likely to want to be a Christian. 2) How do I tell someone the Gospel? My basic (yep it's very basic =P) summary is: In the beginning, God created the world and then created us. He loves us so much and he wants a close and joyful relationship with us. Adam and Eve, the first humans God created, sinned and did something God told them not to do. So now all people have sin. Sin is anything God doesn't approve of. Sin creates a barrier between us and God. Nothing we do can fix this gap and bring us back to God. Originally we are to die for our sins, but since God loves us so much, he sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to Earth to pay for everyone's sin. He died on the cross, then on the 3rd day, rose, proving that his sacrifice paid the price for our sins. God offers this forgiveness as a free gift. To accept it, all you have to do is to turn away from sin and trust Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Those who believe receive eternal life in Heaven. 3) What is the best way to spread the word of God? There is no "best" way to spread the word of God. Some people can talk to non-Christians about God for hours but some people are more shy. They express the Word of God in a different way. They show with their actions. They might help someone in need, or maybe be honest even when it's hard. Some are a mix of both. They show what it is like to live the life of a Christian with their actions and then when an opening comes, they talk about him. 4) What if I tell someone and they won't believe in God? It's fine! You did what God told you to do, spread his word. Changing someone's heart is God's job. You have to respect their choice and know when to stop, but love them the same as always. Don’t force Christianity on them, that’s not good for you or them. You should also keep praying for God to soften their heart in his time. 5) Why is it our responsibility as Christians to spread the Gospel? Jesus commanded it to us so that means we have to. Also out of love for God and other people. If you never heard about Jesus, how are you supposed to believe in him? It may not be the easiest thing in the world, but just because we got saved doesn't mean there aren't any lost sheep in the world who need rescuing. Warning: May not be 100% correct
