I felt the pain rising in my leg and I tried to ignore it, but it grew too much. I soon pieced it together. It was because of whatever the doctors had put in me! I still wasn’t scared, but I was startled. No shots had ever hurt like this before. It burned. I whined, but no one answered. I could only wait for Callie or George to take me back home again. Then it hit me: I wasn’t going home anytime soon. Despaired, I flopped on the ground and howled until I ran out of breath. I tried howling again, but the door opened and a doctor put a cone around my head with harsh hands. I was confused, then realized that I could no longer scratch the burning away. In desperation, I pawed at the doctor, but he pushed me away and slammed the door. Frightened and in pain, I became aware of my sickening surroundings. It smelled of harsh chemicals and metal. I sank to the floor and whimpered until I fell into a world of dreams.
