I meant to have this out earlier but I got super busy with preparing for school and family stuff, plus I'm having a lot of personal problems going on right now that are affecting me mentally so I needed a little time, please try to be patient with me and expect the finale/epilogue by the end of the year, thank you for your understanding and your constant support </3 ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ 69 ᴡʜᴏ ᴀᴍ ɪ ℓιηк “Link, he’s getting angrier,” Zelda warned. “I can’t do this,” I whispered. “What do you mean?” Zelda’s voice took on a tone of concern. “This isn’t me,” I said, “I don’t kill people—” “Where is this coming from?” “If I do this,” my voice shook, “does that make me the villain? A monster, just like him?” “Link,” her voice was soft and warm, like a blanket in the winter, “you are nothing like him. You have a heart, and a soul, and are the most wonderful person I knew.” My heart dropped as I listened to her use the past-tense in reference to herself. “Don’t you ever think something so negative about yourself again,” she scolded. That was it, then. This wasn’t just for me anymore. This was for Zelda. For the Sages, the Champions, the King. For all. My grip on the handholds of the Secret Stone tensed, and my knuckles turned white as I held the Master Sword high over the smooth, glowing surface. I felt its power growing, building within both the sword and in me. My eyebrows furled in an intense focus, and I thrust the sword into the stone, pushing it ever deeper into the head of the dragon. I put my other hand to the hilt of the sword, twisting it. The Secret Stone cracked open, disintegrating into particles similar to sand, which blew away in the intense wind. The dragon tossed its head as the glowing particles continued to flow from the wound on its head. I held tight to the Master Sword, but in vain, as it began to slip free from the stone. I felt my feet leave the head of the dragon as I fell, my hair getting caught in the violent wind, twisting around my face. I felt something soft break my fall suddenly, and I swept my hair out of my eyes to see the familiar yellow fur of the Light Dragon, who flew in a desperate fury away from the draconified Demon King. I steadied myself, spreading my arms out for balance. I looked back to see streams of light piercing through the thick skin of the Demon Dragon, who clawed helplessly at the surrounding air. Gloom bursted from its wounds as it ascended into the sky in an attempt to escape. It stalled, lulling in one position in the sky. Its eyes lost their color, and a blinding, earth-shattering explosion erupted from his body. A strong wave of force was sent from the beast, followed by a deafening, intense blast. Being far enough from the detonation, by the time the wave of force had reached us, it felt like merely a strong gust of wind. “It’s done,” I breathed. I sheathed the Master Sword, and relief washed over me. Zelda didn’t respond. ଘ(´꒳`)°* ੈ‧₊˚ *ᵍᵃˢᵖ* ᶜᵒⁿᵗⁱⁿᵘᵉᵈ ᵇᵉˡᵒʷ! ᶜʰᵉᶜᵏ ⁱᵗ ᵒᵘᵗ!

I lifted it to eye level, examining it. Particles of light similar to those which flowed from the Secret Stone atop the Demon Dragon’s head began to gather around my fingertips, and I squinted in the bright light that engulfed my vision. When I finally came to, and it wasn’t too bright to lift my eyelids, I realized I was no longer standing on the head of the Light Dragon. I was levitating just behind its ears. The particles of light continued to emit from my right hand, dancing like shooting stars around and between my fingers. It soon hit me that I did not know where I was—I was surrounded by a blue-green fog that acted as some kind of strange barrier. A light breeze blew against me, and it was then that I realized I was shirtless, and the Master Sword was the only thing draped across my back. My hand twitched and began to move against my own will towards the head of the Light Dragon, as if it were attached to strings like a marionette puppet. The glowing particles that once surrounded my fingertips now dove for the dragon below me, embedding themselves in the fur growing off of her neck. Something shifted in the air on either side of me, and I turned my head to see Rauru to the left of me, materializing out of thin air, his ghostly form rippling like water in a pond. To the right of me appeared a woman, her skin tan and her hair pale, of whom I immediately recognized as Queen Sonia. Sonia looked at me, acknowledging my presence, and smiled at me, lifting her hand to place it over mine. Rauru did the same. The light emitting from my palm intensified, and it began to cast a yellow film over the Light Dragon’s wounded body. The Light Dragon appeared to be melting. Or, rather, disintegrating. The wind picked up, and the particles which had started shedding from the dragon now blew away in the strong, warm breeze to reveal a woman. Her skin was milky and smooth. Her eyelids were closed, and her lashes were so long that they brushed the tops of her cheeks, which bore a natural flush as if they were lit from within. Tears were painted below her eyes. Her hair was cropped and short, stopping just below her long, perfectly pointed ears. She wore a sleeveless dress I could easily identify as being Zonai in origin, with an off-white layer on top and a rich green on the bottom, along with brown accents which appeared to be hand carved from wood, these being a headdress, earrings, and a series of patterns along the front of the dress. Around her neck was a glowing, yellow, tear-shaped stone, smooth and embellished with an ornate design. Zelda. My Zelda. This should be impossible. I looked back at Rauru and Sonia, feeling the incredulous look creep over my face. Sonia cupped one side of my face with a ghostly hand, and nodded to me, smiling brightly. I could tell which side of the family Zelda’s smile came from in an instant—bright as the sun, warm like its rays upon the fields of Hyrule. “Thank you,” I said. At least, I think I did. I might have been so speechless that I could only mouth the phrase. I was not even sure my lips were moving. Rauru held out his right hand for me to shake, and as I was about to take his hand, I realized it wasn’t Rauru’s arm from which I held out—it was my own. Seeing my realization, he grinned. “We did nothing,” Rauru replied. His lips were not moving, but were in a reassuring, solemn raise. His voice was loud within my cavernous head, reverberating against the walls of my skull. “I don’t know what to say,” I whispered, looking from Rauru to Sonia, who joined hands. They began to dissolve, blending into the fog. Sonia looked at me, her eyes flitting between Zelda and I, and nodded her head once more. What did that mean? I turned to look down at Zelda, her expression peaceful, as if she had not a worry in the world. I suddenly began to feel exhausted, my eyes rolling back into my skull as a strange sensation flooded over my body, bringing me between time and space, and I let the force take me without protest. ☾ ──────── ➷ ───────» ✧ /!\ P0L1CY ᵐʸ ʷʳⁱᵗⁱⁿᵍ ⁱˢ ⁿᵒᵗ ᵗᵒ ᵇᵉ ᵘˢᵉᵈ ᵒʳ ˢᵗᵒˡᵉⁿ ᵇʸ ᵃⁿʸᵒⁿᵉ ʷⁱᵗʰᵒᵘᵗ ᵖᵉʳᵐⁱˢˢⁱᵒⁿ. ⁱᶠ ᴵ ᶠⁱⁿᵈ ᵗʰᵃᵗ ᵃⁿʸᵒⁿᵉ ᵃᵗ ᵃˡˡ ʰᵃˢ ᵇᵉᵉⁿ ᵘˢⁱⁿᵍ ᵐʸ ʷʳⁱᵗⁱⁿᵍ ⁱⁿ ᵃⁿʸʷᵃʸ ʷⁱᵗʰᵒᵘᵗ ᵖʳᵒᵖᵉʳ ᶜʳᵉᵈⁱᵗ, ᴵ ʷⁱˡˡ ⁿᵒᵗ ʰᵉˢⁱᵗᵃᵗᵉ ᵗᵒ ʳᵉᵖᵒʳᵗ ʸᵒᵘ. ᵗʰᵃⁿᵏˢ ᶠᵒʳ ᵘⁿᵈᵉʳˢᵗᵃⁿᵈⁱⁿᵍ! ✉ credits┇ ₍ᐢ⑅ ̥ ̮ ̥ᐢ₎ music ☁ nintendo; @Zelda_Of_Hyrule descr ☁ me, @--peace- thumb ☁ me; art found online ☾ ──────── ➷ ───────» ✧ ⌗ ☄ tags┇ignore ༘° #sneakyWulf2811 #tloz #the #legend #of #zelda #fanfic #fanfiction #chapter #69 #link #zelink #breath #of #the #wild #tears #of #the #kingdom ᴀʟʟ ᴇʟᴇᴍᴇɴᴛꜱ ʙᴇʟᴏɴɢ ᴛᴏ ɴɪɴᴛᴇɴᴅᴏ.
