The ES40DC (Evolution Series, 4,000 hp, DC traction) replaced the former C40-9W model in the General Electric catalogue. These locomotives only went to two Class 1 railroads. These locomotives have been ordered by exclusively one class I railroad in North America if it was factory-made: Norfolk Southern Railway. If it is a non-factory one, CSXT transportation was the only other customer to use ES40DCs. These locomotives have also been made by CSXT transportation by derating a portion of their ES44DC fleet to 4,000 HP in 2009, essentially turning them into ES40DCs.
Credit to all, I worked hard on this no reporting. No offense. Press space or tap to change costumes
