Okay so idk how many people are going to see this but… I just needed to vent for like no reason. About hair. More specifically, my hair. I love it, a lot. I’m going to admit that I’m probably a little vain when it comes to my hair, which I’ve been trying to work on, because vanity is not good. It’s long and brownish-blonde and curly. I love it. But oftentimes, when I meet new people, one of the first things they say to me is “Oh I love your hair!” or “Your hair is so pretty!” Yes, I know those are compliments. But is that really all people notice at first? As an insecure person, I worry about that. I worry that they focus on what parts of me they deem “pretty” and ignore the others, because that’s just how the world is working these days. And I’m pretty insecure about the rest of me. So then I worry that all they see is the outward appearance of me and how “pretty my hair is.” It’s so frustrating. I’ve had people say that to me before even saying hello to me. Or asking my name. Or anything. It’s literally the first thing they say. And one time while I was waiting at a Tim Hortons, some random lady behind me reached out to touch it. That’s a big no-no for me when it’s people I know. Strangers are worse. And then she was like “oh sorry, but it’s just so pretty and curly!” Ughhhhhh I really don’t like it. But like what can I do about it? Nothing really. I mean, it’s different when I know people. I don’t really care what my friends say because I know them and their minds. But when I’m meeting a new person or seeing someone I don’t see a lot? It just feels weird and uncomfortable. So yeah. Thanks for reading my little mini-vent. The person in the TN is me lol I drew that in about 5 seconds. …if you actually made it this far you get a cookie. :3
