*DELETE INSTRUCTIONS AFTER REMIXING* Sorry if it's a lot of reading, but every bit of information is important for projects where you become the creator. Welcome to RNG Game Creator, where lazy people like you can make your own RNG games without coding! Start by remixing the project, seeing inside, and adding your own costumes to the sprite called "SPRITES." I'm warning you now: DO NOT DELETE THE FIRST 3 COSTUMES!! I've provided some costumes already (starting at Scratchy). THESE are okay to delete. When adding costumes, make sure they fit in the box. You'll find out about this later. When you're done adding your own costumes, you can click the plus sign at the top of the editor to add a new sprite to the game. You will see all of the sprites you've added. This is the time you can adjust the sizes of your costumes to fit in the boxes. Click on a sprite to add it. Once you have added all of your sprites, you can change different variables such as chance and value. - The number you enter into "CHANCE" is not a fraction or percentage. It's just a number like 1, 5, 103, 999, or 0.275. The higher the number, the higher the chance it will be selected. (all chance values are added up as a total denominator rather than the usual 100). To make it easier, I also display the percentage so it's easy to interpret. - VALUE is totally optional. It determines how many points a player gains for landing on that sprite. Negatives are fine if you want to make the player lose points. When you want to test your game, click PREVIEW. This is what other users will see (while only you have access to the editor). Do not be afraid to press the Green Flag. Of course it will reset in-game progress, but it will save all game data such as sprites, probabilities, values, and settings (explained in Notes and Credits). AND ALWAYS REMEMBER TO HIT "CTRL+S" TO SAVE!
If you want to see this project's potential, here's an example of what I created using it: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1384784287/ More Info on Settings: - There are different game modes to choose from (basically the animation leading up to the random selection). If you have more unique ideas for game modes, please suggest them in the comments. - "Random during animation" means that sprites will be randomly selected equally, independently of their assigned chances, during the animation leading up to the actual selection. - "Repeat animation" is how long the animation lasts. - You can choose to show the percentages when sprites are selected, and/or also their names. - "Round percentages" rounds the displayed percentages so that you don't need to look at really long and ugly numbers. - "NEW!" displays this message when you got something you haven't gotten before. Stage 1: You play a game Stage 2: You make your own game Stage 3: You make a program so someone else can make their own game using the program. This project is Stage 3, and I hope you remix it and make your game just like you would have if you coded it yourself. This project only looks good if you see the final product, so I look forward to remixes! If you want to go all out on this, you can add a music script (the safest place is the thumbnail) and change the headers and background if you want. BUT PLEASE CHANGE THE THUMBNAIL AND NAME OF THE PROJECT!!
