I yelped as I was thrown into the cage. What was going on? Suddenly, I was moving fast away from all I’d ever known. Hope rose up in my chest anyways. Perhaps these people were kind? I was thrown past more bars into a small cell. It had a bowl of water and one with dry, tasteless pellets. Other than that, the room was a box of concrete and bars. I curled up and waited for whatever would come next. I was awoken to the sound of my own name. “Alberto!” I leaped up, ready for Callie or George to pat me and fill my food bowl. I was quickly caught up with where I was. In a small room, looking up into the face of someone unfamiliar. I was tugged out of the cell by my collar. I had no idea where I was going, but I had high hopes nonetheless. Instead, I was thrown into a white room. I knew what this was! They were taking me to the vet for a quick checkup! I had learned that the vet was good for me, even if I didn’t like it. I would be alright after all.
