Nico’s POV Nico yawned as he woke up. The sun was shining through his- wait that’s not right. He didn’t really have a big window in cabin 13.. right.. he was in the infirmary. He sucked in a breath and turned towards the other beds to look if Will Solace was asleep. He was. Nico watched his chest rise and fall as he softly snored. Nico remembered what he had said. That Nico was a ‘friendly face’. Will had assigned Nico three days in the infirmary, becuase he shadow-traveled sooo much that he couldn’t just go back to his cabin. Nico honestly felt fine, except for the fact that his stomach was growling like Taurtaras itself, and his eyes kept drooping from sleepiness. A blaring alarm clock flashed 6:30 as it rang. Gods, why had Nico gotten up so early. Will shoved his hand on the alarm clock to silence it and then grumbled as he rolled out of bed. He looked surprised to see Nico already up. "Good morning, surprising to see you already up" Will said as he started making his bed. Nico rolled out of his and tried to make his bed neat like Will’s but it wasn’t working.. Will saw Nico’s effort and took the crumpled sheet off the bed. "That needs to be washed anyway. Put this in the laundry hamper with the other dirty blankets will you?"" Nico nodded, unable to find words for some reason, and scampered off to the hamper. He started shoving his blanket in the hamper when he realize a small piece of paper tangled in the blankets and pillows. It read in small cursive hand writing- ‘nico likes you back ya’know -kayla’. Hot anger and embarrassment made Nico’s face red. He tore up the note and shoved it in his pocket. Did he have a crush on Will? Well if so, how did //Kayla// figure out? Did that mean that Will liked him…. Nico shook his head and threw his blanket haphazardly in the hamper and scampered back to his bedside. Will was drinking coffee in his pjs while reading doctor papers. Nico sat back down on his bed, only to get back up, not wanting to sit around all day. He wanted to do something, help with something. Will grabbed his hand and to stop him. Nico’s heart skipped a beat. "Uh what?" He asked //real// intelligently. "Youre not supposed to leave yet." "I know" "You still have like, three days and two nights left." "Wow precise. Does that mean I can’t get out of bed though?" Nico asked, raising an eyebrow. Will blushed. "No, I just wanted to -" Will stopped an sighed. " I don’t know sorry." Nico immediately felt bad. "I don’t mean-" Will shook his head. " no you didn’t do anything." "Ok," Nico said quietly. After a pause he asked awkwardly: "can I use the bathroom?" Will blushed for what Nico could swear was the fourth time today. "Uh yeah of course" he stuttered. Nico went into the bathroom and locked the door. Of course, he didn’t actually need to go to the bathroom. He took out the remnants of the note from Kayla. And read it again. ‘Nico likes you back ya’know. -Kayla’ Kayla acted like it was so simple. Like she could just tell him Nico had a crush on him. And- what if Will was straight? What Nico was imagining it? Fantasizing about something that would never work? What if the word ‘back’ in Kayla’s message was nothing and it was just a simple word that should be ignored. Nico threw the note in the thrash and sighed. He shouldn’t be wallowing over such a dumb thing and should go to help out Will. Also he didn’t want Will to think he was having um- problems in the bathroom, becuase that would get awkward. He took a deep breath and opened the bathroom door.
