People stare They wonder why I don't show my face They think I do it by choice. Underneath the mask I look just like them And they look just like me. But underneath the skin They are in the spring of their life And I am in fall. A condition That comes with a life expectancy That comes with tears. And somehow I'm still here But for how long? Will I have kids Will I see them grow up Will I ever meet my grandchildren? My parents They worry They might be the ones to bury me. But still I am thankful Because I am the lucky one. When I see others I realize My life is a miracle. I go to school I have friends I will go to college. And still I pray I will be alive to bury my parents. Because in this life In my life Nothing is given. Every moment Every breath Is taken. So I am thankful Because I know I am the lucky one.
