this was made by me and my friend last weekend and she wanted me to share it writing by me but art by her no she doesnt have a scratch account otherwise i would credit it below is the preveiw of a sketchbbook or other digital app version (im putting everything in another project later too) ••••••••••••••••••••◊•••••••••••••••••••••◊••••••••••••••••••••••••• Cute “Odd Little Cat” Style — Sketchbook Tutorial Style: slightly wonky, soft, unusual proportions, big expressive eyes, simple shapes, and a hand-drawn look. The goal is cute without looking like the usual anime/chibi style. Create your canvas Open Sketchbook. Make a new canvas around 2000 × 2000 px. Use a light cream background. Make the sketch layer Create a new layer. Choose a simple Pencil brush. Draw a wonky circle for the head. Add two oversized triangular ears. Don't worry about making the shapes symmetrical. Give the cat strange proportions Make the head slightly too large. Give it a tiny body. Try unusually long legs or a very fluffy tail. Slightly tilt the head for personality. Draw the face Make two large eyes, but don't make them perfectly identical. Add a tiny upside-down triangle for the nose. Draw a very small mouth. Add 3–4 simple whiskers on each side. Add the line art Lower the sketch layer's opacity. Create a new layer above it. Use a Fine Pen/Inking-style brush. Trace loosely instead of making perfectly smooth lines. Keep a few little bumps and imperfections. Colour underneath Create a layer below the line art. Fill the cat with a muted colour such as dusty orange, grey, cream, brown, or faded green. Use the Fill/Color tool where appropriate, or paint with a larger brush. Add the cute weird details One slightly darker ear. Tiny patches of uneven fur. A little bow, flower, bell, hat, or oversized collar. Give the cat an intentionally awkward pose. Add simple texture Use a textured pencil or brush at low opacity. Add a few scribbles around the fur. Don't shade everything—leave lots of empty space. Finish with a tiny background Add a few blades of grass, stars, flowers, a window, or a little object beside the cat. Keep it simple so the cat remains the focus. ✨ Sketchbook trick For the unpopular-but-cute look, don't try to make every line perfect. Wobbly outlines + asymmetrical eyes + unusual proportions + muted colours are what make the style distinctive.
