Little story I wrote from Jackie’s perspective: I lay on my bed, my arms and legs sprawled out. My mother, Cylvia, was two houses down from me at her friends house. My older sister, Denise, was coming to pick up her dog, chowder, I was babysitting while she went out with her friend. He lay on the floor. We both sigh. In the blink of an eye, the doorbell rings and I sprint to the door with Chowder following close behind. “ Hi, Denise! Chowder’s just been chilling. How was your day?” I quickly exclaim the second I open the door. “Thanks for watching him, you were my only option and I guess not the worse. It was fine.” Denise replied, snatching Chowders leash as he jumped on her with his tail wagging. As she walked to the driveway, I hesitated to follow after her. “Love you…” I muttered. Denise could hear me, I could tell because she looked at me for a second, then turned around and unlocked her car. Denise never liked anybody other than her friend Blake and Blake’s mom. Not even me, her own sister. Or our mom. Though I was used to it, it still always hurt. She never told me she loved me. Ever. I went inside and sobbed, which is what I always do whenever Denise leaves.
