He’s masculine, but in a non-toxic kind of way — ✦ Backstory ✦ There was nothing really memorable about the first two years of Darull’s life. Everyone told him how terrible it was, but as most two year olds would, he just forgot it. From the moment he started actually remembering things, Eran and Lydia were the ones who cared for him. They lived on a lovely ranch, but they weren’t all that rich. Regardless, Darull still loved it and often spent time caring for the chickens. Ever so often his Uncle Caspian would visit and bring gifts from the capital city. He would tell tales of what’s been going on in the kingdom. What festivals or events were coming up. He had that privilege as a knight. To a young Darull, Caspian was the coolest person you could imagine. All the tales he heard from his uncle sparked the wish in his heart to someday become a knight. At seven years old that wish becomes true. Caspian himself has arranged for Darull to become his apprentice and his parents permitted it. And so, Darull was a page boy, as necessary, for the next six years until the young prince himself was to select a few young boys to be his personal knights. Darull was one of those chosen. Things could only get better after that, right? Chosen by Prince Saurin! Such a rare opportunity and he was chosen for it. Things /were/ better after that. Until three years later when Caspian went on a solo mission, he never returned. In the occasion of a loss, all knights were permitted immediately to be able to return to family and attend funeral for as long as they wish. Caspian’s death was the first personal one Darull had experienced. After it, Darull made a promise to himself that he would become just like Caspian in every way he could. — Feel free to ask any questions
