Today I worked Cream in Western dressage in the indoor arena. We started with a relaxed walk to warm up and get him listening to my cues. Once he was settled, we worked on circles, changes of direction, and transitions between the walk and jog. Cream was feeling a little opinionated today and got distracted a few times, trying to drift off the rail and investigate things around the arena. He also tossed his head when I asked for a transition, clearly telling me he had his own oppinions. After getting his attention back, we worked on keeping him balanced and focused through the corners and practiced some more precise movements. He eventually settled into the work and finished on a much better note. Definitely a few stallion moments today, but Cream still put in some good work!
