T.W.- violence, implied swearing, bad parenting First - https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1152701994 Next - Coming in the near or distant future Previous - https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1370492868 Fjord gave Starry the easiest openings to attack. She didn't notice. She herself moved way slower than she was capable to avoid hurting Starry. Starry was slower. Rosedawn watched silently, seeing clearly that what was happening was wrong. Vinestar kept up a constant stream of comments, aimed at both apprentices. Starry could barely understand what was happening. The words were muffled as they hit her ears. Fjord's movements didn't make any sense. The sunlight was too bright. Blue and green shadows kept obscuring her sight. A warm feeling was creeping up, like the feeling just before you fall asleep. Starry was tired. So,so tired. “Get up you lazy scoundrel. Stop making a scene. A warrior won't win battles out of pity.” Vinestar was yelling at Starry’s slumped form, as Rosedawn rushed to her, trying to rouse her and Fjordpaw froze thinking she had unknowingly hit Starry badly. It took a while for Rosedawn to bring Starry out of her faint. Starry raised her head slightly and instantly began sobbing. “Stop crying this instant! All of that third rate training you received is turning you into a useless piece of -” “That's enough!” Fjordpaw screamed at Vinestar. Vinestar bared his teeth at her, instantly taking a fighting stance. “How dare you? Have you learned nothing from the last time you talked back to me? How dare you have the audacity to order me about?” Fjordpaw was beyond logic. She matched his stance and hissed, claws unsheathed. “I don't care who you are, you say one more word against Starry and I swear to Starclan I'll make you blee-” Rosedawn yanked Fjord away. “Stop it, both of you! Starry's sick. We need to get her to Ferndew now.” Without waiting for an answer she picked Starry up and began walking. Fjordpaw shot Vinestar a filthy look and followed. It took Ferndew a while to calm Starry down. After which she had to helplessly confirm that Fjordpaw had indeed been given more apprentice duties. It took her three days to bring Starry's fever down. Vinestar didn't visit her once during this period. Even Fjordpaw somehow made time to visit her if only to exchange a quick joke. When Vinestar finally did visit, Ferndew ended up wishing he hadn't. Vinestar didn't take a moment to ask his daughter how she was. He went on a huge rant telling her just how she had embarrassed him by losing to Fjordpaw, just how she seemed to be determined to prove herself worthless. He blamed it all on her determination to learn about “leaves and flowers”. Starry listened, her heart sinking lower, and lower into her with every word. The parting words shook her the worst. “Rest all you can today. I want you up at dawn tomorrow to practice. I'm not going to have you make another laughing stock of me. And that's an order from your leader since you clearly have no respect for your father or your mentor.” Starry never noticed him leaving. Her head was spinning. He didn't care about her. Nobody did. She wasn't important. Not unless she was a warrior. Starry didn't know what to do anymore. Her heart was beating faster than she could believe possible, thudding in her ears. She had forgotten how to breathe. Her feet felt cold like she was sinking into ice water. Nobody here wanted her. Nobody cared. Nobody would ever care. The end.
Oh my God that was such a hard chapter to write. To much dialogue. I just did the lazy thing and narrated it at the end. I'm trying our this format now because I barely get the time to write these let alone put them in scratch projects. I do have a buffer now though. Yippee. Also I'm having some trouble with thumbnails.
