School started up again today. This time, Natascha, Ilia, Darija, Rin, Saki, and Fiete didn't take the Hogwarts Express, since they were already close to Hogwarts; instead, they grabbed their broomsticks and flew there. They arrived just as the ceremony was beginning. The next morning, classes began with Care of Magical Creatures. Then came a break, and Natascha went outside alone. She transformed into a cat and prowled around. Suddenly, she spotted Fiete and Rin standing together in a corner, quietly discussing something. Natascha moved closer and hid behind a bush, though she only managed to catch a few words. "Rin! I decide who I like! Not you!" Fiete said. "But you're only fifteen! And you two have been together since third year!" "So what? That’s none of your business." Natascha understood. It was about her. Rin didn't want her to be with Fiete; she thought Fiete was still too young. After all, she herself had been with Luon since fourth year. But then Natascha left; the break bell rang, she transformed back, and everyone headed inside. Next was Transfiguration—Natascha's favorite subject. Today, they were practicing turning a matchstick into a mouse. After class, Natascha went to the library and sat in a quiet corner with a book. Suddenly, Valentino Silva approached her. He was feared by all the students—except the Slytherins—as he was a dark wizard. He abruptly raised his wand and pointed it at Natascha; she quickly drew hers as well. "Crucio!" he shouted. But Natascha reacted quickly. "Protego!" "Crucio!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" "Expelliarmus!" Natascha cried, and Valentino's wand flew into her hand. But Valentino lunged at her and snatched back his wand. He had knocked Natascha over, and she lay on the floor; her wand had landed a few meters away. She got up to retrieve it, but then he shouted, "Expelliarmus!" And her wand flew to Valentino. "Crucio!" he cried, pointing his wand at Natascha. She fell to the ground, writhing in pain. Valentino quickly placed her wand on a shelf and ran off. Shortly after, Rin walked in and saw Natascha. Natascha explained what had happened, and Rin fetched Madam Pomfrey. Natascha had broken her leg and had to use crutches. A few months later, the Yule Ball took place. Natascha was still on crutches, so she could only watch. Darija was watching too, so they sat together on a bench and observed the dancers. Ilia was dancing with her boyfriend, Mark, once again. Later, there was a grand buffet and hot cocoa.
