The RiverClan leader showed the newcomers their new territories. Everyone immediately set to work building the camps. NatureClan was situated right next to SeaClan and FlowerClan, while TreeClan was a little further away. NatureClan made good progress setting up their camp and territory; they marked the boundaries and gathered branches, leaves, and other materials for construction. By evening, they had nearly finished the walls and the main shelter. Next, they began building the leader’s den, the apprentice den, the warrior den, the elders’ den, and the nursery. These took longer to complete; although they managed to finish the leader’s den, the elders’ den, and the nursery, it grew late and everyone was exhausted, so they decided the warriors and apprentices would have to sleep outside. The next morning, Crowstripe woke up a bit later than usual; the others were already up. She went hunting with Hollyleaf and Islandleap, as the new territory was teeming with prey. When the three returned, everyone else was waiting for them. Hollyleaf took some of the catch to the elders, while Crowstripe and Islandleap brought some to the nursery. Afterward, they ate something themselves and went hunting again. This time, Crowstripe went with her apprentice, Floodpaw, along with Islandleap and his apprentice, Rootpaw. The four of them caught plenty of prey, and the fresh-kill pile grew steadily. The new school year was set to begin the following morning, and Crowstripe was looking forward to it. Unfortunately, she would be preparing for her NEWTs at Hogwarts, and everything was about to become much more difficult. She was afraid she might fail the final exams.
