READ INSTRUCTIONS, THEN NOTES AND CREDITS Scratch was one of my favorite games to play in elementary school. Now I'm in middle school, 3 years later, and this has changed. So much has changed, for better and for worse. The players have always been nice to me, but not to others. On the front page, there was a thumbnail that should not be on a kids' platform in general. Hundreds of other kids and I were traumatized, and I've been trying to get rid of that image ever since. The game can also get very repetitive; there aren't any good tutorials (besides @griffpatch) out on the internet. If you want to code something cool without outside help, you might be dragging random blocks to make something. Even the tutorials that are built into Scratch aren't useful and can't really teach you actual coding. Also, most of the blocks are confusing in general for new players. The saddest part about this is that they got rid of the trending page; they only have some boring old games that shouldn't even be on the front page. Besides, bots and alt accounts could make an inappropriate game go on the front page, tricking the algorithm. If you are a new scratcher, it's super difficult to get ANY attention unless you post on studies; even THAT won't help. The only good thing that did was absolutely nothing. Nothing good has changed; Scratch has become more monetized with memberships and stuff like that. Nothing good has been happening, and everything has been going downhill lately. Scratch isn't even educational; block coding isn't used if you want to code actual games. Python and Java aren't usually used for coding in general. You don't learn anything besides the basics; if you want to actually code a good game with better graphics, less lag, etc, you must learn Python instead. For big projects that you want to actually make, Python.org is the best place to go. So what's this all about? Let's address the elephant in the room. Scratch is a bad website in general. If there is a game where you can post/create anything you wish, expect there to be some bad stuff. People can make some inappropriate profile pictures, games, thumbnails, etc.
So after all of this, I'm gonna say it. I'm quitting. I'm gone forever. I'm not posting, I'm not playing, I'm never playing or typing the URL ever again. If you comment, I won't even notice.
