Our Senate [In Punic and constitutionally an Adirim] is obviously the head of Carthage itself, ensuring little power goes to one man and instead power is given to all in the senate. I’ll show you how this works. The “election” which is sometimes nicknamed a bidding, has people in Carthage run for candidacy. The richest 105 people in Carthage who put in their bid after the election/bidding deadline is over will become the senate. Out of those 105, every year, the senate will elect their Sufette/Sufet. This would be the closest thing Carthage has to one man being the leader. The senate will have another election/bidding done every 5 years, so all administrations will see 5 sufet. Why would this be important to our economy? Well since the 105 richest Carthaginians are in the senate, obviously many will hold corporations to make sure they can get into the senate and secondly, many businessmen will make blocs, either conditionally and with little force. For example, two competing companies with involvement in the seas are likely to vote together on a new restricting act *example* since its in their interest despite the differences. Many of these exist in the senate even if sitting far away. The richer you are, the closer you sit to the Sufet, literally and figuratively. Some rivals despise the other, as a result, either the voting bloc will split or a new rival bloc will be created either way. This happened with an airline bloc that fractured as they had opposing interest, as an example. All these companies can make us a LOT of money, especially when their CEO holds their spot in the senate, I already discussed how we can have our citizens make our companies, the senate, and themselves richer, well, two of these can link to the government and make us more money. Businesses obviously need workers too, and, since everyone is or can be making easy money, the thing is they can make themselves money with such and secondly the powerful can buy their way into what they want, since the rule of the game is you can buy anything legal in Carthage. Factories get a bit more pay off the cut because of this because companies want to make sure that they have a good flow of income and goods to export out into the wider world since we are completely mercantile.
