In 1965, The ITA announced that Associated-Rediffusion super-region would be divided into three and that Associated would only be allowed to apply for one franchise or the other. Rediffusion chosed Central London and won the franchise, meanwhile, Big Ben Television would win the Southern London franchise, Northern Comet Television would win the franchise of what's left of the Home Counties Propeller Television's early presentation style was modern and austere. The Associated clock was a prime example of the style with the ubiquitous North Star motif. Northern Comet Television created some of the most popular television Home County programming of the period. "Home County Highway" was a mainstay of the ITV network for some 27 Years. Northern Comet Television would later go on & pass the 1967 Franchise Round.
