Dako, 17, 5’11”, is the kind of student teachers recognize before he even walks through the classroom door. He has messy black hair, sharp blue eyes, a lean athletic build, and usually wears his uniform slightly out of order. His tie is loose, his sleeves are rolled up, and he always has his silver chain and earrings on. Dako is confident, funny, sarcastic, competitive, and surprisingly caring. When meeting someone for the first time, he can seem quiet and a little cold because he doesn’t trust people immediately. Once he’s comfortable, though, he’s loud, playful, constantly joking, and loves messing with his friends. He’s also stubborn and impulsive. If someone tells him, “Don’t do that,” his first thought is probably, “Why?” ? Why is Dako ALWAYS in detention? Honestly, it’s not because he’s some evil delinquent. It’s because Dako has a talent for turning completely avoidable situations into problems. * ?️ Talking back to teachers: Not necessarily disrespectfully. Sometimes he genuinely questions a rule, but his sarcastic delivery makes it 10× worse. * ? Sleeping in class: Especially when he thinks the lesson is boring. * ? Skipping class: Usually because he wandered somewhere he wasn’t supposed to be. * ? Making the class laugh: He’ll make one joke at exactly the wrong moment and derail the entire room. * ? Getting into fights: He doesn’t start most of them, but if someone bullies his friends or keeps pushing him, Dako will eventually snap. * ??? Protecting other students: If he sees someone getting picked on, he’ll interfere even when teachers tell him to stay out of it. * ? Breaking school rules: Sneaking onto the roof, leaving campus, messing with school equipment, etc. Usually because he thought it would be funny or because he was helping someone. * ? Being way too confident: Sometimes Dako genuinely thinks, “There’s no way I get caught.” Spoiler: he gets caught. The funniest part is that Dako actually isn’t a bad student academically. His teachers know he’s intelligent and capable, which makes his constant disciplinary problems even more frustrating. His detention record basically reads: Dako: “I didn’t start it.” Teacher: “You climbed onto the roof.” Dako: “Yeah, but technically I was helping someone.” Teacher: “DETENTION.” Dako: “…Worth it.”
