☦︎ Welcome to Orthodox HQ! ☦︎ ☦︎ Table of contents ✦ Introduction ✦ Our rules ✦ Curating and managing ✦ Verses of the year ✦ Question of the month ✦ Patristic quote of the week ✦ FAQ overview ✦ Credits ☦︎ Introduction This studio was created for the Eastern Orthodox Scratchers. Here you can post Christian projects, chat, make new friends, and learn about Eastern Orthodoxy. Notice: if you were invited, but you're not Eastern Orthodox, please ignore the invitation. It may be a mistake. If not, we will inform you. ☦︎ Our rules ✦ Always be kind and respectful. ✦ Follow the Scratch Community Guidelines. ✦ Add projects related to Christianity. It's OK if the project's not Orthodox, but unrelated stuff will be removed. You may ask to add a project if you're not a curator of the studio. ✦ Don't ask for F4F (Follow For Follow) or FoR (Follow on Request). Also please don’t spam or advertise. ✦ Respect all religions and denominations even if you don't like them. ☦︎ Curating and managing All Scratchers are welcome here, but curators and managers must be Orthodox. If you want to curate, you can ask for an invitation in the comments, and a manager will invite you. Your Scratch account must be at least 2 weeks old, unless it is an alt account with the main that has already joined. Managers can remove curators if they see that it's needed, but please minimise removing people. Thank you! If you want to become a manager, please fill out the application. Link: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1369515961 [APPLICATIONS ARE CLOSED NOW.] NOTICE: I will open manager applications earlier than the moment when 1 month will have passed after I created this studio. Despite the requirement of being a curator for at least 1 month, you can fill out the application and let me see it if you are in the list below: @ServantOfLogos @Walawen_of_rohan @orthodoxTrinitarian @TheRealYapLord @enji_- @Margo981 @amogus986566854 @TimothyTheMapper ☦︎ Verses of the year ✦ Psalm 13:6 - I will sing to the LORD, for he has been good to me. ✦ More verses coming soon! ☦︎ Question of the month Which situation can easily make you forget about God for a while? Why? What can you do about it? ☦︎ Patristic quote of the week "No matter how just your words may be, you ruin everything when you speak with anger." ~ St. John Chrysostom ☦︎ FAQ overview Q: Are we saved by faith, works, or both? A: We are saved by God’s bountiful grace through our faith in Him, but that faith naturally comes with charitable actions and behaviors. Christianity is about love and selflessness. Helping others, spreading the gospel, and repentance are a show of living faith. As James 2:17 says, faith without works is dead. Q: If God exists, why does He allow all evil and suffering? A: Humans cause evil because of our sin. Creation was corrupted by our sin, which is why Jesus came down to cleanse it and redeem it. Q: How about earthquakes and tragic disasters? A: God may have a greater purpose for evil. As Genesis 50:20 says, what we think is useless suffering could be used by God to bring about greater good in ways we can't see. Refer to Romans 8:20-22. Q: Why doesn't God remove free will to prevent us from making mistakes? A: God created us with free will to set us apart from his other creations. He wants us to be able to choose to love and follow him, rather than being forced to do it, like a robot. Q: Why doesn't God save everyone? A: Everyone sins of their own choice, and thus everyone deserves punishment. It's our fault. ☦︎ Credits ✦ To the Christian HQ studio for some ideas and parts of description, especially for the FAQ overview. ✦ To for being our 1st curator.
