hi guys. long time no see… Okay let’s just cut to the chase: Why have I not uploaded a project in over a year? While many people assume the reason I’ve been inactive was because of procrastination (as I have joked about several times on this account), that is actually not the case. For the past 7 months, I have lost complete motivation to make projects. I lost the joy that came from making projects, and overall it felt more like a chore to work on the return project than it was a fun hobby. Not only that, but I lost motivation to even log onto Scratch entirely. Imma be completely honest with you guys, Scratch has fallen off, and this is not at all targeted at the Scratch Team or is a way of me trying to bash on this website, but as of late, a lot of my favorite creators have been pretty inactive (like me lol), and the website is in a weird state of vacancy at the moment. As I am writing this, we have “Minion memory” sitting at number #2 on the #ALL TAB! I have nothing against that project whatsoever, but how is a project uploaded in 2016 sitting at the number #2 trending spot in scratch? Many talented creators are having their talent shunned because of this trending page glitch, and this glitch has made it harder to find high quality and new animations and games, making the Scratch experience a lot less enjoyable. This website feels… kinda dead in a way, but that’s just my opinion. I’m curious to hear your take on this in the comments below. Ranting about Scratch aside, let’s talk about the future of this account. As you can see from the fact that I finally logged back on after 7 months, I feel pretty motivated to continue to make projects. The only issue is that this is both my senior year and the middle of the marching band season, which means progress on the actual return project will probably feel painfully slow (but it will be faster than the last 7 months… because like… I did nothing). Please continue to be patient with me; I have a lot on my plate this year (college applications, SAT, AP classes, band, etc.). To those who have actually sticked with me throughout my time of inactivity, my biggest regards goes out to you. I can’t imagine how painful it must have been to constantly check on my page, just for me to still have 62% of the return project done after half a year. You guys are truly the best fans that I could ask for, and you guys are ultimately the reason why I’ve decided to come back. For the future, expect the quality and length of my projects to drop dramatically. It pains me to say this, but the truth is, I don’t have nearly as much free time as I’ve had in the past to actually make projects, and therefore if you want me to actually make more than 2 projects this year, then expect the quality to go down. Even though I only have 38% left to finish my return project, the quality of that project is very high, so you can plan on me still taking a while to finish that project (sorry gng). I still plan on making my future projects to be as funny and enjoyable as possible though, so be ready to see peak unemployment activities in the future. And with that, my retirement is over. The backdrop of this project is sort of an imagery of me during my retirement, just chilling on the beach (which in reality was my room), letting Scratch be an afterthought. But now I’m ready to upload a new project once every century, so stay tuned! Thank you for caring about me. See you soon! -Silk
